TO: Gregory Wickliff, PhD.

FROM: Adam Moyer, Justin Orders

DATE: March 23, 2017

SUBJECT: Editing Usability Testing of the Secondary Pages on the J.

Murrey Atkins Library Website by Thompson, Moore, and
McComas.

As stated earlier in Planning MemoProject Two, Justin Orders and myself were
given the report Usability Testing of the Secondary Pages on the J. Murrey Atkins
Library Website by Thompson, Moore, and McComas, for this editing assignment.
The audience for our edits will initially will consist of the authors of the work and
most likely their immediate superiors as well as Dr. Wickliff as their and our
instructor. Ultimately, the audience will also include library staff and faculty. I
have listed them below.

Audience consists of many key players:

Dr. Wickliff
The original authors (Thompson, Moore, and McComas)
College of Education Dean and Professor, Ellen McIntyre
Atkins Library Dean, Anne Cooper
Atkins Library IT staff (they will make the document pdf and html
accessible via online)
Other UNC Charlotte administrators
The primary purpose of our edits was to edit Usability Testing of the Secondary
Pages on the J. Murrey Atkins Library Website by Thompson, Moore, and
McComas as well as provide constructive feedback on their report to make it more
accessible to the target audience of their report. Using the guidelines of the project
and the style sheet provided by the authors, edits and recommendations to the
original document were made and proposed.

Microsoft Word 2011, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Adobe Acrobat Reader DC were used
to conduct our edits. Upon submission, the authors could make changes to the
source PDF or Microsoft Word files.

Schedule:

March 2: Submitted Planning Memo

March 16: Submitted Marked Draft One
March 23: Submitted Marked Draft Two with assessment

Individual Assessments:

Adam Moyer:

The editing for Robin Thompson, Elana Moore, and Austin McComas Usability
Testing of the Secondary Pages on the J. Murrey Atkins Library Website was not
as difficult as the editing of Project One. The material that Justin Orders and I were
given to edit was better than either of us expected. In fact, the project was very well
done. We did, both find several issues which needed to be addressed. Yet, they were
mostly lower level edits.

I appreciated that we were required to make our edits in PDF format. Editing in
Adobe Acrobat was entirely new to me. I found that I really liked editing in Adobe.
The additional editing tools provide within the Adobe suite made the editing
experience fun for me. I also liked how I could set my name as the author of my
edits.

Justin Orders:
This editing project was one of the more enjoyable editing projects Ive done so far in
this class. The main reason for this is because I worked on this same project
(Usability Testing of the Secondary Pages on the J. Murrey Atkins Library
Website) when I took Dr. Wickliffs 4181 a year ago. My group made similar
decisions and approaches to doing this project as this group, making it easier for me
to understand and critique their work. I also found myself comparing my final
product to this one which we edited and found this very helpful. Most important,
doing this comparison showed me how much Ive learned in the last year and
showed me how much I continue to learn with each document I edit.
