Mr. Alfred Lima

Providence Public Schools
Providence, RI

Dear Mr. Alfred Lima:

After finding your position posting on School Spring, I knew I was the perfect candidate for this job,

which I hope you agree. I have a couple of years of experience working with children at an afterschool

program and it is what I enjoy best. There is no better feeling than knowing we have helped a child.

My goal as an educator is to ensure that all students are getting the education they should be getting

and I have various methods of teaching since I know I will have different types of learners. I have

learned over the years that accommodations must be implemented in order for there to be equity in

their education. Equality is not the same as equity and I know I would be the perfect candidate to

complete this job. I would love to have an opportunity to form part of your great team.

Over the years, I have become an expert in the language of Spanish. Spanish was my first language and

over the years I have perfected my grammar and my reading fluency. I have a Bachelors in Bilingual

Education which I believe makes me a great candidate for this position. Also, I have had experience

working with children with speech impediments and this job is for speech therapy in Spanish. In

addition, throughout my career I performed observations and service learning hours with children with

disabilities which gave me more experience on the topic. I observed a speech therapist work with a

child using various methods that might be helpful for me as well. There are many resources that can
be used and I will use from foldables, and dry erase boards, to computers and a smart board. There are

many uses to technology and I will take advantage of the new teaching methods as well as the old-

school methods. The main goal is to keep my students engaged and having fun while learning and

helping them reach their goal as well. I also know that some students will need extra accommodations

such as having visuals or a set schedule but these accommodations will be to benefit the students. I

love the use of centers because it keeps students moving and prevents them to lose focus. It all depends

on the teacher in being creative and really caring for her students and I believe I am the right fit.

As a professional, I am always seeking to grow and improve my skills so I am open to anything that

will help me become a better teacher. I would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to read

my letter. I will contact you in the following week to set up a time to discuss. Again thank you and I

hope to see you soon.

Sincerely,

Denisee Tovar
