CourseObjective
PsychologyIIisanintroductiontothescientificstudyofhumanbehaviorandmentalprocesses.Inthis
course,youwillstudypracticalapplicationsofpsychologicaltheoriesthroughscientific
experimentationandtheoreticalinvestigation.Youwillnotbeapsychologistbytheendofthe
trimester,butyoushouldhaveabetterunderstandingofhowandwhyhumansthinkandacttheway
theydo!

CourseOverview
Eachunitwillinvolvereading,lectures,andquizzes,buttheultimategoalforeachunitissome
hands-on,creativeprojectwherestudentsareaskedtodivedeeperintooneofthetopicscoveredinthe
unit.Inadditiontoexpandingeverystudentsunderstandingofpsychology,thegoalsofthiscourseare
inquiry,collaboration,developingstudentvoice,authenticproducts,andfinally,reflection.

Technology:
o Itwillbenecessarytohaveaccesstoacomputerthroughoutthetrimester.Ifyoudo
nothaveaccesstotheinternetathome,pleaseletyourinstructorknowaheadoftime
soarrangementscanbemade.Chromebookswillbeprovidedtoeverystudent,butif
studentspreferotherequipment,theycanbringittoschooltouse.
o Youwillbeexpectedtocheckyourschoolemaildaily.Importantupdatesandresources
willbesharedinthatmanner.
o GoogleClassroomistheplatformweuseforouronlinecourse.Itisabsolutely
necessarytostayuptodateonGoogleClassroomassignmentsanddeadlines.All
resourcesarehousedtherethroughoutthetrimester.

GradingPolicy
Themajorityofthiscoursewillbegradedbasedontheworkthatgoesintoeachprojectandthefinal
resultoftheproject.Partofthegradewillalsocomefromparticipationwithinthegroup.Thisclassis
nottest-focused,butthereisapossibilityforshortquizzesalongtheway.Thefinalexamforthis
coursewillbeawrittenreflectionontheprojectbasedlearningexperience.
