Music is in the Air

The shared Two Schools Together music
department will be putting on several concerts this
trimester. Parents, students and friends are invited
to attend! Great music is always relaxing and
uplifting.

On Wednesday May 31 at 4:00 PM in the SOIS

theatre, the middle school (MS) beginner band,
middle school intermediate band and the high
school (HS) concert band will be performing.

On Thursday June 1 at 4:00 PM in the SOIS

theatre, the MS chorus, MS beginning, MS
intermediate and MS performance strings will
perform. The HS concert strings are also
participating. For the grand finale, over 100 strings
students will be on stage performing the theme
from Jurassic Park.

On Tuesday June 6 at Maple Hall in downtown

Minoh at 6:00 PM, the HS chorus, HS concert
strings, HS winds ensemble and the SOIS
Symphony Orchestra will be performing.
Asian Art Night
Local visiting artists and OIS visual arts teachers
will be conducting workshops on Wednesday
June 14 from 3:30 - 5:30 PM. More information
will be forthcoming soon. Please note in the
Educator last week, the date was mistakenly
publicized as June 12.
Enrollment Update
If you know you are not returning for the
2017-2018 school year, please pick up a
withdrawal form from the business office.
Enrollment is tight in several grades and we need
to know if any more spaces will be available.
Author Visit Tad Hills
New York Times bestselling childrens book
author Tad Hills will be spending the day with
our elementary students on Monday May 29 in
the 3F conference room. Kindergarten through
grade 5 students will be having workshops with
him at different times throughout the day. A
special thanks to the OIS PTA for supporting the
visit.
Game Inventor Haim Shafir Is
Coming to OIS
The Israeli game designer will be speaking to OIS
students in grades 5 - 10 about creativity and thinking on
Monday June 5 at 2:30 PM in the SOIS theatre. There
is limited seating available for parents to attend as well.
