Learning Record Form For Research ONLY Name:

The purpose of this form is to document your learning as you are researching.
What you should see is that learning is a process. Your goal should be to update this form on a daily basis as you work
and find out additional information:

Include the information you have learned, with the main ideas summarized in your own words. If you cant summarize it in your
own words, you havent learned it.
Include the dates so that you can monitor your learning process.
As you learn more, you should always have more questions. We should see continuous questions and answers as you seek to
deepen your knowledge.

Knowledge Section: This section will be where you record what you know, as well as what you learn. At the end it should
give us a picture of the learning that took place during this project.

Things you know and things you learned: This section will be the first section you will fill out. Here you will list, summarized in
your own words, every important idea that you know so far. Later, as you learn more, you should add to this list. Choose a
specific color for all the things that you know. Choose a different color for all the things that you learn. This should be
summarized in your own words.

Question Sections: Questions drive learning. Asking effective questions is the key to real learning. You should keep a
careful record of all questions that come to your mind. If the teacher comes to ask what you are doing, you should be able
to show them the question that is driving your learning.

Things you know that you dont know: These should be questions that come from you. Having focused questions is an
important part of doing efficient research. If the teacher comes to ask you what you are doing, you should be able to show them
the question you are focused on. As you learn new information, add it to the things you know section in a different color.

Things you didnt know that you dont know: As you continue to research and learn, you will come across words or ideas that
you have never heard of before. This is a very valuable chance to learn. It will also lead you to have questions such as: what does
this word mean? Who made this theory? How does this relate to this? These questions will add even more opportunities for you to
learn. As you learn the answers to these questions, add them to the things you learned list in a third different color.

Goal: brain storm research question
Reflection: to come up with research question, we
have to gather information for the idea. In our group
we decided to use 2 guinea pig, so we use two
method for it. One use food and another use sound.

sound as a guide for it to run a maze? We come
with this question by talking to our group.

Goal: finalize research question and start
background research
Reflection: we brain storm background knowledge
for this creature to come up with the question. Then
we do some research online to understand more
about this animal. We kind of accomplish the goal
because we can find our question and some
background research, but not the critical part of it.
From what we found out, it is a highly social animal
that live in family of 5 or more individual. It also
need a little extra care because it need extra
vitamin C due to its inability to digest and store the
vitamin.

Goal: divide proposal
Reflection: to come up with equal work, we have to
gather information to see how much work we have.
We have achieve the goal because we divide the
work. I will do introduction while Man and Kim will
do methodology along with Bam and Jean work on
literature review. For my part I have to do research
for background research and use it to introduce the
project. This class is used to research the

Goal: work on proposal
Reflection: to work on the proposal, we need to find
background research for the animal we use. We
need to find information related to the research
question so we can have some knowledge for it. I
achieve the goal today because I have found the
information necessary for the research question.
The information I found is about favorite food and
communication process. In my opinion, these are
necessary for doing the project efficiently.

Goal: research introduction outline
Reflection: continue from last class, now I start to
summarize the information that I have gather. I plan on
writing with limited information about the experiment
because it may overlap with literature review. I
completed the goal today because Ive summarize the
gathered information. This information may be used to
give reader idea of the organism. Now that Ive finish my
part, Ill be waiting for the guinea pig to start the

corrected. Now that I understand what to fix, I start to re-

Goal: continue build maze
Reflection: today our group already decided the blue-
print of the maze. We have cut out feature board and
prepare the glue that have planned for the maze. Our
goal today is to build the maze. Weve accomplish the
goal because we have glued feature board together and
put on the wall of the maze. Next class we plan to

Goal: experiment in maze
Reflection: today our group decide to have a guinea pig
try out the maze. This will lessen the guinea pig fear and
let them relax while doing the maze. Our goal today is to
let guinea pig try out the maze. We completed the goal
because we let guinea pig into the maze. Next class we
will let the guinea pig continue to let them be familiar
with the maze.

Goal: continue to experiment in maze
Reflection: today our group let a guinea pig continue to
try out the maze. This is because we want to let them
stay clam during the experiment in the maze. The goal is
to let the guinea pig get familiar with the maze. We
completed the goal because it look more calm and
active. However it still didnt finish the maze. Next we
will try to let it finish the maze.

Goal: relax the guinea pig
Reflection: from the last experiment in the maze, we
realize that the guinea pig is stress. This mean we need
to calm the down to let them learn the pattern of the
maze. Our goal today is to relax the guinea pig. We
completed the goal because the guinea pig look more
relax than last class. Next time we will try to run them in
the maze again.

Goal: let the guinea pig run the maze
Reflection: when we put both guinea pig into the maze, it
didnt run into the maze, but rather run in single part of
it. So we decided to let it in from the other side. This time
it run further into the maze, but it still cannot find the
way out. However weve accomplished the goal because
it run in the maze which is unusual for it because it
usually stand still when in the maze.

Goal: let the guinea pig relax in the maze and try to
remember it
Reflection: today we decided that the guinea pig need
more time to get use to maze, so we let it relax and
remember the maze. We try to put it in the maze to let
get use to the maze. Then we take it out and play with it
to relax it. We completed the goal because it look more
relax and doesnt run into the corner of the maze any
more. Next time we will continue with the maze.

Reflection: today we continue to let the guinea that use
food as guide try out the maze. Therefore the goal today
is try to let it complete the goal. When the guinea pig is
moved into the maze, it start to explore the maze which
is unusual for it. We complete the goal for today because

Reflection: after finish with the experiment, we start
doing the reflection for the e-portfolio. We decided to
brainstorm first before start writing each person
reflection. We complete the goal for today because weve

Reflection: today I continue to work on reflection and
finish it. Then I start on learning record form for the e-
portfolio. I partially complete the goal because I finished
the reflection, but not the e-portfolio. This is because I
use a lot of time to write work log. All that left is finish e-
