Self-Awareness and Awareness of Others

It is a well-known fact that individuals may be left-brained or right-brained. According to

Nielsen et al. (2013), this constitutes the brain which is more active in processing and that it is

essential for the determination of the attitudes, behaviors, and hobbies of the individuals.

Majority of the population are right-brained but the characteristics designated to them by science

is not universally through as there are deviations in this data. Benefits of being right-brained

include creativity and vigilance; left-brained include being logical and objective; but being whole

brained is far more advantageous because it combines these characteristics (Hecht, 2010).

Chacha.coms test is one of the brief and simpler tests on determining the more active

side of the brain of the individuals. It was shown in the result that I am indeed left-brained which

is often characterized by being logical, reliable, rational, as well as enjoying schedules but very

reluctant top changes. It confirmed my initial thoughts that I am left brained because I show

these characteristics.

Left-brained individuals are far different than right-brained individuals as they contrast in

handling situations and on preference over things that conflict often arise as a result thereof

(Volkow, 2012). For example, in an organization, brainstorming may lead to disagreements due

to the presence of different opinions between the different types of people.

In todays society, all of the characteristics of both left and right brained are desirable but

there are also characteristics which does not really conform to the needs. As a particular

example, the reluctance of left-brained individuals to change is not suitable to an ever changing

world. Therefore, the most ideal type of person is to be whole-brained.
