COURSE SYLLABUS

Course Code: MATH 122

Course Title: SOLID MENSURATION
Pre-requisite:
Credit: 3 units
Course Description: Solid mensuration covers the mensuration of plane figures
and solids. Topics on the mensuration of plane figures
include the concept of lines and planes, as well as
formulas for computing area. The mensuration of solids
deals with Cavalieri's theorem and the volume theorem,
as well as the formulas for calculating the surface area
and volume of solids, namely cubes, rectangular
parallelepipeds, prisms, cylinders, pyramids, cones,
frustums, and spheres. The Theorems of Pappus are also
included.
