Teacher prepares a story book named as ''I am Bunny'' written by Richard Scarry by using
easel.ly. This book is prepared to make sense about the seasons for children. In this book, it
is mentioned that animals get ready for each season and the changes between seasons and
their life. Moreover, teacher wants children to bring their seasonal clothes to the classroom
one day before the activity. By using these clothes, children are expected to make a
improvisation to show difference of clothes according to seasons.
Individual Learning Activities Children can examine the story book on their
own.
Group Learning Activities Children and teacher make discussion about
the story and differences of clothes according
to seasons. They also make a drama as a
group activity.
Summary
Teacher indicates the story book which is prepared by using easel.ly on the screen. (If she
needs a hard copy because of electricity problem, she can print out the story book from the
site.) Teacher reads the story to children. This story is about a life of Bunny whose name is
Nicholas. He lives in a hollow tree. In the spring, Nicholas likes to sniff the flowers and in the
summer, watch the frogs in the pond. In the fall, he watches the animals getting ready for
winter, and in winter, watches the snow falling from the sky. After reading the book,
teacher asks a question to the children ''Did you realize those squirrels are getting ready for
the winter? What might they make to get ready for the winter? After taking the ideas of
children, teacher asks another question which is ''well, what do you do while getting ready
for the winter or summer?'' They make discussion about the differences of clothes
according to different seasons. Teacher says that '' now, let's look at our clothes, what you
think about these clothes, for which season they are appropriate'' In this way, children can
make a brainstorm about their clothes changes. At the end of the discussion, they decide in
which season they are. After that, teacher says that you remember yesterday I wanted you
to bring your seasonal clothes and now you can bring into the center of the class and I have
also some clothes for you. Teacher asks '' do you have an idea about what we can make
with these clothes?'' By doing this, teacher makes a transition to the drama activity in a
proper way. In the drama activity, children are expected to make four small groups. Each
group represents a single season. Children are supposed to choose appropriate clothes
according to their seasons. Teacher gives a time to discuss and prepare their improvisation.
After getting ready for drama, they exhibits their improvisations in an order way. At the end
of the activity, teacher and children make discussion about the clothes that they used and
mention the differences between the qualities of the clothes based on different seasons.
When the activity is over, the evaluation part can be started by teacher.
Measurement & Evaluation
Teacher asks assessment questions to the children to evaluate the learning process of the
activity.

Daily- Life Questions: What do you do to get ready when season changes? Did you realize
that whether there are differences related to seasonal changes around you?
Goal Oriented Questions: In the drama activity, how did you express yourself? Which part
do you like most in the story?
Measurement & Assessment Activities Children are asked which part of the story took
for Individual Performance your attention mostly.
Measurement & Assessment Activities Children are expected to evaluate their
for Group Performance performance in terms of appropriateness of
clothes in the improvisation part.
Homework (optional) Teacher gives a worksheet which includes
matching of clothes according to each season.

Explanation
Teacher sends a letter to the parents about the parent involvement activity.
Dear parents,
Today, we made an activity related with the seasonal changes on our clothes. We made
drama activity by using the clothes that you sent. In order to reinforce your child's learning
about the topic, I would like you to put in an order and separate them according tot the
seasons by making discussion about them.
Thank you for your kind attention.
