PROPOSAL FORMAT

I. VISION STATEMENT: Our vision is a Stolac where all citizens can enjoy life together through cross-

cultural understanding, tolerance, and friendships.

II. MISSION STATEMENT: Our mission is to engage Stolac youth to assist in rebuilding a local basketball

court where citizens of Stolac can use sports to engage one another in conversation, understanding,

cultural tolerance, a nd friendships that will contribute to the well-being of our city.

III. NEEDS STATEMENT: What are the issues?

-Stolac Lack lacks of sport equipment and facilities to engage Stolac citizens of all ages by either

playing sports or spectating.

-People in Stolac are not involved in any sport or activities that can improve and build community and

cross-cultural tolerance. Commented [AMS1]: Would you say that they are not
involved in any activities? Or There are limited options for
sports or activities in Stolac that can improve and build
community and cross-cultural tolerance. ? (I am asking, I dont
-As citizens of the City of Stolac, we have experienced for years that Ccitizens of Stolac our town are know from experience. ) I would move this up to be your first
bullet point,
Commented [AMS2]: This emphasizes your credibility as a
not aware of true meaning of tolerance which often leads to misunderstandings. , such asFor team with firsthand knowledge of the communitys challenges.

example, many people believe that it is not possible to live in a city with neighbours of different

religion and backgrounds, or that is not good or possible to interact and share same space for ordinary

activities. that These perceptions affect quality the level of of toleranceting for diversity among

citizens of our town.

-Not enough interaction between peers of all ages

IV. STRATEGY & JUSTIFICATION:

Target population

1. Primary : youth because we strongly believe that a better tomorrow starts with the

education of youth today

2. Secondary: all citizens because we are convinced that results that will follow by youth

engagement will be the best example for all that positive changes are possible and needed

-Our plan is to organize a tournament where we can promote tolerance by playing basketball with

children, youth and elders of all ethnic background because there is are not enough opportunities for

them to interact or socialize together.

-We are going to educate the youngest members of our community to use sports as a positive way to

increase cross-cultural tolerance and friendship in an effort to buildt a stronger sense of community

because they are our next generation of citizens, and we know that friendships in childhood have a

strong impact on a persons future.

- Fact is thatThe basketball hoops in our court are ruined and need to be repaired.some recovery so

So, that will be our window for calling and engaging volunteers in taking part on working together in

a city need.

-Our intention is to establish places receptacles for garbage in order to create a more pleasant

environment at the basketball court so that will truly be a nice place to be, socialize and enjoy when

playing or watching the game.

-We need to provide places for players and elderly people to rest by setting up resting benches. It is

difficult for older citizens to engage with youth in Stolac, which makes them very isolated from new

ways of thinking and new ideas about building a cohesive community. If we offer older citizens a

chance to play sports or a place for them to sit and watch sports activities, the will become less

isolated and begin to realize that the youth are looking for a change in their communitys tolerance

for all citizens.
