2. find the root of each of the following equations of polynomials :
a. p(x) = 2x + √11
b. p(x) = ax2 + bx + c , a is not equal to zero and a,b,c are constants.
c. P(x,y) = x2 + y2 – 2x + 1
d. P(x) = x2 – 2x(p2+1)/p + 4

3. Using remainder theorem, determine the remainders when the following polynomials are divided by (x-1).
i. X3 -3x2 + 4x + 50
ii. 11x3 – 12x2 –x + 7

4. Find the value of a if the remainders, when both the polynomials (ax3 + 3x2 -3) and (2x3 -5x +a) are divided by
(x-4) are the same.
5. If the polynomials x3 + 2x2 –px – 7 and x3+px2 -12x +6 be divided by (x+1) and (x-2) respectively, the remainders
are r1 and r2 and if 2r1+r2 =6 then find the value of p.
6. Determine the value of a and b if (x2-4) is a factor of the polynomial ax4+2x3-3x2+bx-4 .
7. Determine the values of a and b when the polynomial (ax3+bx2+x-6) is divided by (x-2), the remainder is 4 and
(x+2) is a factor of the polynomial.
8. If (x41 +b ) and (x41+a) be divisible by (x+1) then prove that a+b =2.
