Solar energy

The Issue
The most common source of energy
for industrial, residential, corporate,
and rural areas is fossil fuels. Fossil
fuels are also the main contributor to
nitrogen air pollution. The use of solar
energy is being acclaimed as a solution
to the issue of both air pollution and
the rapid depletion of fossil fuel
sources.

EPA on Fossil fuels
When fossil fuels are burned, they release nitrogen
oxides into the atmosphere, which contribute to the
formation of smog and acid rain.

Green power is a subset of renewable energy and

represents those renewable energy resources and
technologies that provide the highest environmental
benefit by reducing the emissions associated with
traditional electricity sources.
Common Courses of Action
Besides investing in solar panels, a common
course of action is to put the clean energy
generated by solar panels to use by driving an
electric car. This targets one of the biggest
contributors to air pollution, carbon emissions
from automobiles. Essentially, reducing reliance
on fossil fuels is a way to contribute to the
environmental efforts.
