INTRODUCTION
This treatment is going to be about an upcoming open world RPG horror game aimed at ages 18+
and I will be talking about in this treatment what the meaning is behind the title of the game and
how it was made. Furthermore, I am also going to be talking about potential rivals of the game and
what the characters will look and play like towards the user.
GAMES DETAILS
Title of game
Format of game
The game will be running on the graphics of 4K/1080p which is on most console
platforms and PC graphics cards. I chose this power within the graphics as I
want to use the Frostbite engine to create the game to make the look of the
game realistic. However, if I want to make the game look realistic using the
Frostbite engine I will need to make it run in 4K as this engine is used by gaming
companies such as EA to create games such as battlefield. Furthermore, using
a 4k graphic system it can be played on many different
3
Console platforms and PC platforms from low
end PCs to higher ranged PC depending on the
graphics card in the PC. Furthermore, the game
will have cut scenes which use a wide range
of pixels in creation so making it in 4K helps
process the facial features of the characters and makes the gameplay more fluent for the
user. File formats used by computers, organized by type. Filename extensions are usually
noted in parentheses if they differ from the file format name or abbreviation. Many
operating systems do not limit filenames to one extension shorter than 4 characters, as was
common with some operating systems that supported the File Allocation Table (FAT) file
system. Examples of operating systems that do not
impose this limit include Unix-like systems, and
Microsoft Windows NT, 95, 98, and Me which have
no three character limit on extensions for 32-bit or
64-bit applications on file systems other than pre-
Windows 95 and Windows NT 3.5 versions of the FAT
file system. Some filenames are given extensions
longer than three characters.
Market research
Audience
4
The age of my game is going to be a R rated meaning its hitting the ages of 18+ as the
game I am going to created is going to be a horror game which will include gore and
abusive language. I chose this age as I feel like it allows me to create a horror game that
is more adult base driven. For example, most horror games are aimed at 18 years as
this is easier for a company to produce a good horror game without the need of making
sure its suitable for younger ages. Furthermore, making an adult based game
surprisingly hit a large amount of audience as older games are becoming more frequent
this means that more adult based games are being created as there is such a demand for adult based
horror games. The chart shows the percentage of people ages 18+ which play video games this
means that I feel that making a game hitting that age range is a good idea.
The gender of my game is for male and female as horror games can cater to
both genders as both males and females enjoy the thrill of being frightened by
horror games and films. This means that my game even though the main
character is a male there will still be female characters throughout the
games storyline.
Will still be female characters within the game that will hit a women
audience yet these female characters will not be playable they will
be one of the favourites for female audience. However, the game
will be played by more male gender as there are a larger male
audience in gaming then women. Yet, the game will still be very
viable for female gamers if they choose to play the game. My game
will cater to both casual and hard-core gamers as the game is going to be an open world RPG
therefore the game will have a lot of content in it. However, most casual gamers are people who
play an hour of the game in their spare time, unlike hard-core gamers that play the games all day
this means that the game will need a lot of content for the hard-core gamers and a good storyline
and enjoyment for the casual gamers. For my game to help hard-core gamers I will need to place
side quests for the player as hard-core gamers complete main mission
games rather quickly therefore adding side quests will expand the
playability of the game and give the hard-core gamers more content for
them to play after finishing the storyline of the game. Moreover, due to
the expand o content for a casual gamer there will be a game which
they can play for a very long time as even if they have an hour to play a
bit of the game they can just play a side mission if the casual gamer doesnt have enough time for a
story mission.
Language
5
national amount of languages due to where the game is being released. In many games language
plays a big part in the games interest towards an audience. In games such as call of duty which has
sold copies in many different countries across the globe language plays a big part to making the
game suitable for its audience. An example of call of duty using language to do this is by the way the
creators knew that the game would be released across the world therefore they made the games
audio different for each copy thats sold in a different country. Carrying the point the way call of
duty would have performed this language is by having the audio suitable for that specific country
such as an English copy of the game will have English audio but a Spanish copy of the game will have
Spanish audio to suit the countries language.
Communities
Territories
6
gaming shop is big in both England and American. This means if I release the game into these shops
the likelihood of getting a large fan base is almost certain.
The territories in the game are widely spread as the game I am building is an open world game. This
means that the whole map can be explored and navigated by the player. There are going to be 4
sections to the map holding 4 different Viking villages that are
under attack by the creatures. The different will be colourised
on the map for example the main village which the king Viking
will own is highlighted in a very faint yellow/ gold colour still
visible to the player but not obstructive. The player will also
have a mini map at the top left of the screen to help the user
navigate around the map with needing to always open the
main map.
Comprehensive overview
Known as GUNNVOR has been having runnings with these creatures as they are attacking his village
and family. Yet, at first they class you as an outsider and dont
trust or want any part involving you. However, the further
into the games storyline the main character grows more and
more attached to this Viking village and the people within it
also the main character begins to become more and more like
a Viking warrior. Finally, once the character is trusted by the
king GUNNVOR they can then work together to eliminate this
demon from the sky.

Theme of game
There are many different levels within the game to make a very strong structure to the game.
However, the game I am creating is very single player driven based as adding multiplayer options can
hinder the level of detail in the single player story. This means that the game will primarily base
around the single player storyline. Yet, there will be an option for a CO-OP mode in the game. This
isnt to do with a multiplayer mode but it does allow another player alongside the main player to
play the single player. The way the structure of the game is similar to the only rival game The Last of
Us as this game was created for single player use only and this is what my game is going to be aimed
at. This is due to the fact of a strong storyline that could interest the user and the mass amount of
accessibility for the user to explore in the games map. This means there isnt much use for a
multiplayer mode as the single mode is rather long and there will be side missions to keep the
players occupied.
home page
campaign
This spider diagram shows the structure of the home page and how other pages will connect with
different pages. For example, the home page which includes Start to continue moves onto to a
submenu which includes a start campaign option and start new campaign and continue from
previous saved spot and finally a CO-OP option.

All features
There are many different features that will be in the game that can either help
or make a task for the player. The first feature that my game will have is an
eating system for example due to the player being in a Norwegian Viking era
sheeps will be very present and the user can kill a sheep and take the sheeps
meat for later but the meat will need to be cooked for the player to eat the
food and keep the main character not hungry. Another good feature that will
be in the game is collecting loot of dead bodies such as if you kill a creature
and collect the head the user can hand that head into the king of the specific
village and get rewards for it. Other features will be similar to current games
today such as last of us when a weapon is involved in a survival game rounds that can be used for
the weapon are very scares and when ammunition is found making sure that using the rounds
sufficiently can be rather difficult. This feature with the
ammunition I wanted to use in my own game but with a
link to the storyline as the ship you are in crashes
ammunition scatters in the crash leaving little boxes of
ammunition around the area. This feature and link will
make it more entertaining and a little more difficult for the
user to find the ammunition making the survival aspect
more present.
The main character the scanner doesnt show the full colour of
the character but the character is grey and black with golden
armour and blue lighting on the eyes. This character will change
throughout the game as the user will get more amour and
weapons. Yet the Image above is of the main character at the start
of the game. The other image is of the main villain of the game
the creature. This is what the player
will be fighting against throughout the
whole game.

The king Viking GUNNVOR who will be in the game.
Game mechanics
The game mechanics will be different aspects such as to mantle up a walk the player will have to
press X when they are near the wall and the character will begin to do an animation showing the
character climb up the wall. Other mechanics that will be in the game is some weapon play for the
user. As I will have an attack and blocking system in the game as this adds a whole new depth of
battle style in the game. Moreover, for the player to use the dynamic fighting mechanics the user
just needs to hold L2 on the PlayStation or LB on the Xbox and for PC just click the left hand side of
the mouse. And to attack click the opposite trigger R2, RB or the right hand side of the mouse.
Another fun mechanic that will be in the game is the equipment of the new gear whilst the user is
still playing. This is just when they achieve the new equipment an option to equip it will appear and
the player can either equip the gear or not.
Game environment
The game known as battlefield is more based around the environments and terrains to emerge the
user deeper into the feel and look of the game. Each terrain is different for each map as this makes
the game more dynamic and exciting. Each maps terrain is very different for example the desert map
on the bf1 known as Sinai Desert is mostly covered by
desert. However, once the user the has done with this
map and moves onto a new map the terrain and visual
look of the maps completely changes. Another example is
the forest map from BF1 which is called Argonne Forest
and consist of a dense forest and involves the user in a
completely new environment and terrain. Therefore game
environments are important.
10
Conclusion
Overall I feel that this game will be a success in both genres of gamers and I also feel that the game
has a strong enough storyline to excite and interest the user into wanting to look further into the
game and maybe wanting to play the game. I also feel that the characters are very in-depth due to
the thought behind each character and how they are battling these creatures. Furthermore, each
character is likeable by the player this means that the audience will expand as the characters and
easy to remember and likeable. Moreover, the games technical qualities and excitement factor with
be very large especially for the chosen audience. However, I feel the survival factor will be a lot
harder than regular survival games as there will be different way the survival techniques will be
shown. Yet I feel that my chosen audience will enjoy the survival RPG feature.
