New tenants ranging from Gasolina Cafe of Woodland Hills to Taqueria el
Tapatio of Camarillo have signed on to join The Annex, a public market-style
space under construction at The Collection at RiverPark in Oxnard.
Critics Choice: Most anticipated opening
When it opens later this year, The Annex at The Col-
lection at RiverPark in Oxnard will either be Ventura
Countys answer to the Grand Central Market in Los An-
geles (open since 1917 and still going strong) or the star-
crossed Santa Barbara Public Market (open since 2014
and still finding its footing).

McKinnon and small retail shops easily wins my vote for Most An-
ticipated Opening. Weve been waiting for it since before
late 2014, the date quoted on coming-soon banners seen at its origi-
nally announced address on Park View Court.
The Annex has since moved down the block, to the corner of Col-
lection Boulevard and Park View Court near Copper Blues Rock Pub &
Kitchen. A mid-to-late-summer opening is anticipated and this time
Im pretty sure they mean it.
I think this because I can actually see (and hear) construction when I
stop by to try and peek through the barricades. Also, developers of the
16,000-square-foot project have announced the names of several antici-
pated tenants.
They include such local food-and-beverage operations as Bottle &
Pint, a Newbury Park-based craft-beer taproom and retailer; Love Pho,
a family-owned Vietnamese restaurant with existing sites in Camarillo
and Newbury Park; Ragamuffin Coffee Roasters of Newbury Park, Ta-
queria el Tapatio of Camarillo, and Scratch Sandwich Counter, a new
spot from chef Tim Kilcoyne of Scratch food truck.
Also joining the mix of food vendors will be The Blend Superfood
Bar of San Diego, Gasolina Caf and Pancake of Woodland Hills, and
Seoul Sausage Co. of Los Angeles. In addition, Southern California-
based Afters Ice Cream will be located in The Collection but accessible
from The Annex.
Whatever. Just open, already.
