Console to display
This part of the guide will show you how to connect a PS4 to a monitor using a HDMI cable.

For this you will need to have at hand:

A PS4, a PS4 cower cable, a HDMI cable, a monitor/TV and another power source for the
monitor/TV.

The first step is to plug in the PS4 to the

mains and grab a HDMI cable.

Once you have the PS4 plugged into the

mains then you will need to put one of the
HDMI ends into the HDMI port on the
PlayStation 4, which can be located on the
back of the PS4, 2 ports in from the left.

Next you will need to make sure that the other

end of the HDMI lead is connected to the
monitor/tv via the HDMI port.

Console to Console in a Local Area Network (LAN Server Based)

For this guide I will show you how to connect 2 Nintendo Switches together on a server based game
of Mario kart using a LAN connection. Both of you will need to be within a certain range of each
other to connect to each other.

For this you will need: 2 Nintendo switches, Mario kart on both Nintendos.

The first step is to start up the Nintendo

switch. The button can be found on the top
of the console on the left.

The next step is to load up Mario kart. You

can either press on the screen or use the joy
cons to select the game in the menus.

(In this test I already have Mario kart installed

although all you will need to do is plug in the
cartridge of the game or go to Nintendo
eshop).

P a g e 4 | 31
Chris Scollick
Unit 36 - Assignment 3 P4, M4, D4

Once the game is loaded you will need to go

to wireless play, which can be located on the
bottom of the menu screen.

Next you or your friend will need to create a

room so that both of you can join the same
game.

Finally who ever created the room will have to

choose the settings for the game and now
you can both enjoy a game of Mario kart.

For this all you will need is a Nintendo switch (although the outline of this guide can work on other
devices just might be different depending on the device.)

The first part of this is to load up your switch.

Then you are going to want to go to network
settings and scan for a network to connect to.

Once you have found a network to connect to

and connected, you are able to start playing
online multiplayer.

The next step is to load up Mario kart. You

can either press on the screen or use the joy

Here you are able to choose from a range of

different online options. For this guide I am
using the Friends and Rivals option as I am
connecting with another person I know.

Now you will need to invite your friend to a

game.

After your friend has joined you can start the

game and enjoy Mario kart.

This process is basically the same as you

would need to do on other devices such as
the PlayStation.
