What God's Word Says about Prosperity

Introduction to prosperity scriptures

WARNING!

Do not be deceived by the “Prosperity Gospel” that is being preached. I have

been around this message for 38 years, so I have seen a few things in my time.
(I have hesitated for a very long time in making these scriptures public, because
I do not want to be labeled as part of the prosperity Gospel, false prophet
crowd.)

A friend commented that this prosperity message really took off in the oil-rich
areas of Texas and Oklahoma, in cities like Houston, Dallas, and Tulsa, among
others. That makes sense, doesn’t it? Go where the money is. It’s a take off on
the old Catholic indulgences scam, but instead of paying money for your “get out
of Hell free” card to get to go to purgatory instead of hell, they are paying their
money for the promise of getting rich and blessed by God. They believe it must
be true because the preacher said it.

The preachers of “churchianity” and “religiosity” will use it to promote the

satisfying of their own fleshly desires, a bigger home, another car, a bigger boat.
It promotes covetousness, their ego, greed and other ungodly things.

They use guilt and condemnation to get you to give beyond your means. This
happened recently to a dear Christian friend of mine in Dallas. She had been
sick for months and said she knew she was “out of covenant with God” because
she could not financially pay her tithe. Even though this is not true, she died and
went to her grave believing her rich, Bentley-driving pastor’s lies.

Pastor Smiley-Face will say on TV that you can have your best life now by
following what he says and give to his ministry. They tell you to think and grow
rich, to say out loud every day that “money cometh to me today.” Be careful.
Preachers are using what I call “Christian Metaphysics” and teachings from the
popular metaphysics books to help you learn “the secret” which will bring riches.
Jesus said in Matthew chapter 24, “Take heed that you do not be deceived.” And
I say, “Oops, too late.”

Why does the prosperity message work for some and not others? Why do the
wicked heathen prosper? One explanation is that Satan is the god of this world.
In Luke 4 Satan tempted Jesus with the riches of the world. He told Jesus “all of
this has been delivered into my hands and I give it to whoever I want.” People
have bowed to Satan and have gotten rich, but at the cost of losing their soul.
On the other hand, what are the positive aspects of God’s prosperity scriptures?
It will renew your mind to what is possible for your life. As a young man I
was verbally beat down and abused. My outlook on life was very bleak. I didn’t
know what I wanted to be when I grew up. I had a terrible inferiority complex, I
was extremely fearful, and I considered myself to be pretty much worthless.

Then after I received God’s free love gift for me and became a saved, born
again, Holy Spirit-filled Christian, I started reading the Bible and I saw that God
says we can have prosperity and blessings if we obey Him and follow His
commands. This really intrigued me so I did a Bible study to find all the
scriptures that deal with this topic. I meditated on these scriptures and God
started to slowly renew my mind and bring me up to a higher level. My thinking
changed and my self-esteem rose out of the gutter and more confidence and
courage arose in my heart.

Second, it should encourage you to live a godly, righteous life. The scripture
says to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness – then all these
things that you need will then be added to you. Don’t put the cart before the
horse. Get your priorities straight. Seek God and serve Him with all your heart.
He loves you and wants the best for your life. (This introduction was written by

Prosperity Scriptures
The WORD of God is the foundation:
Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all
these things shall be added unto you.
-- This is NOT an overnight "get rich quick" scheme
-- Comes by much meditation
-- It's free, but it's not cheap

We are made free from the world system and the devil:
John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue
in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from
the law of sin and death (and poverty).

I. Know that it is God's will for us to prosper. God's Word is His will!

3 John 2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in
health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Psa 35:27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause:
yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in
the prosperity of his servant.

II. Because of Jesus' finished work at Calvary, we were redeemed from

poverty unto riches.

Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse
for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Gal 3:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through
Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
2Cor 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was
rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might
be rich.
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am
come that they might have life, and that they might have it more
abundantly.
Isa 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when
thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall
prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
Isa 53:12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide
the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death:
and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of
many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

III. Because it's our inheritance; we are now in God's family; we have a
rich Father, we are His sons

Rom 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children
of God:
Rom 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if
so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Hbr 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath
appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
1Cor 3:21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;
1Cor 3:22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or
things present, or things to come; all are yours;
1Cor 3:23 And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.
Rom 8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how
shall he not with him also freely give us all things? (Since He gave us His
most prized possession, surely He will give us lesser things like riches
and goods.)
"We are the Bride of Christ; our Father God is the Father of the Bride, and
the Father always pays for the expenses."

We are His sheep, Jesus is our Good Shepherd.

Psa 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Psa 23:2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the
still waters.
Psa 23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for
his name's sake.
Psa 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear
no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Psa 23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Psa 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and
I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Mat 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust
doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
Mat 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor
rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
Mat 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Mat 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy
whole body shall be full of light.
Mat 6:23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If
therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
Mat 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and
love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye
cannot serve God and mammon.
Mat 6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall
eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is
not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Mat 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor
gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not
much better than they?
Mat 6:27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
Mat 6:28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field,
how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
Mat 6:29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not
arrayed like one of these.
Mat 6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and
to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye
of little faith?
Mat 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall
we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
Mat 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly
Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all
these things shall be added unto you.
Mat 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take
thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Luk 12:13 And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother,
that he divide the inheritance with me.
Luk 12:14 And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over
you?
Luk 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for
a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he
possesseth.
Luk 12:16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain
rich man brought forth plentifully:
Luk 12:17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I
have no room where to bestow my fruits?
Luk 12:18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build
greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
Luk 12:19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for
many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
Luk 12:20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required
of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
Luk 12:21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward
God.
Luk 12:22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no
thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall
put on.
Luk 12:23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
Luk 12:24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither
have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are
ye better than the fowls?
Luk 12:25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one
cubit?
Luk 12:26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye
thought for the rest?
Luk 12:27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I
say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of
these.
Luk 12:28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to
morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of
little faith?
Luk 12:29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be
ye of doubtful mind.
Luk 12:30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your
Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
Luk 12:31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be
added unto you.
Luk 12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you
the kingdom.
Luk 12:33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax
not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief
approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
Luk 12:34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Luk 12:35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;

Deut 28:1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the
voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments
which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on
high above all nations of the earth:
Deu 28:2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou
shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
Deu 28:3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
Deu 28:4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and
the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
Deu 28:5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
Deu 28:6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be
when thou goest out.
Deu 28:7 The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be
smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and
flee before thee seven ways.
Deu 28:8 The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses,
and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the
land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Deu 28:9 The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath
sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy
God, and walk in his ways.
Deu 28:10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name
of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.
Deu 28:11 And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy
body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land
which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
Deu 28:12 The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to
give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine
hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
Deu 28:13 And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou
shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken
unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee
this day, to observe and to do them:
Deu 28:14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command
thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to
serve them.

IV. They are legally ours now. God made the riches for His children, not
the devil's children, and Jesus legally gave it back to us.

Psa 24:1 The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they
that dwell therein.
Psa 50:10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand
hills.
Hag 2:8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.
Luk 4:6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory
of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
Col 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them
openly, triumphing over them in it.
Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given
unto me in heaven and in earth.

and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt
you.

therein: for I have given you the land to possess it.
Pro 13:22 A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the
wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.
Rom 4:13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to
Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness
of faith.
Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according
to the promise.
Gal 3:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through
Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath
blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Eph 1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know
what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his
inheritance in the saints,
2Pe 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain
unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us
to glory and virtue:
2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that
by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the
corruption that is in the world through lust.

V. Sowing and Reaping Principle

Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that
shall he also reap.
Gal 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if
we faint not.
Luk 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down,
and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.
For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to
you again.
Ecc 11:1 Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.
Phl 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Phl 4:14 Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my
affliction.
Phl 4:15 Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when
I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as
concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.
Phl 4:16 For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.
Phl 4:17 Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your
account.
Phl 4:18 But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus
the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a
sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God.
Phl 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory
by Christ Jesus.
2Cor 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and
he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
2Cor 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not
grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
2Cor 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always
having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
2Cor 9:9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor:
his righteousness remaineth for ever.
2Cor 9:10 Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for
your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your
righteousness;)
2Cor 9:11 Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth
through us thanksgiving to God.

VI. Methods of Sowing

1- Tithing

Mal 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in
mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will
not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that
there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Mal 3:11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy
the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the
time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.
Pro 3:9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine
increase:
Pro 3:10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out
with new wine.

2- Offerings

Luk 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down,
and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.
For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to
you again.

3- Giving to the Gospel

Mar 10:28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have
followed thee.
Mar 10:29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man
that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or
children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,
Mar 10:30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and
brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with
persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
4- Giving to the poor

Pro 19:17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that
which he hath given will he pay him again.
Pro 22:9 He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread
to the poor.
Pro 28:8 He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall
gather it for him that will pity the poor.
Pro 28:27 He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes
shall have many a curse.

VII. Comes by meditation and confession

Josh 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt
meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according
to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous,
and then thou shalt have good success.
Psa 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor
standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
Psa 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate
day and night.
Psa 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth
forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever
he doeth shall prosper.
Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

VIII. We get them by faith. Stand on the Word of Blessing. Just because
you can believe God's Word is true, that's faith. That faith of yours is the
substance of what you are hoping for to come. Hold on to that faith of
yours, don't waver, it shall be manifested.

Hbr 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things
not seen.
Mar 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye
pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Hbr 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is
faithful that promised;)
Hbr 10:35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great
recompence of reward.
Hbr 10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God,
ye might receive the promise.
Jam 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men
liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Jam 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a
wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
Jam 1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
Jam 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
IX. As a reward for holding fast, faithfulness

Hbr 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to
God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that
diligently seek him.
Psa 66:12 Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire
and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.
Psa 34:9 O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear
him.
Psa 34:10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the
LORD shall not want any good thing.
Psa 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and
glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
Psa 112:1 Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that
delighteth greatly in his commandments.
Psa 112:2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright
shall be blessed.
Psa 112:3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness
endureth for ever.
Pro 22:4 By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.
Pro 15:6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of
the wicked is trouble.
Pro 8:20 I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of
judgment:
Pro 8:21 That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill
their treasures.
Pro 28:10 Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall
himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in
possession.
Pro 28:20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste
to be rich shall not be innocent.
Pro 28:25 He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his
trust in the LORD shall be made fat.

X. I know He is able, but will He do it for me? Is He willing? Yes, because

He already has done it, legally, in the spiritual realm, but you must stand
on the Word of blessing to have it experientially, in the physical realm.

Psa 68:19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God
of our salvation. Selah.
1Tim 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded,
nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all
things to enjoy;
Luk 12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you
the kingdom.
Pro 10:22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow
with it.
Psa 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of
thine heart.
Deu 8:18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth
thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he
sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
3 Jo 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in
health, even as thy soul prospereth.
