Dear Sir or Madam,

I wish to apply for the role of Programme Coordinator, as advertised on ReliefWeb.

I am interested in this role as although I have solid experience as a Grants Manager in a variety of
contexts, I am seeking to move to a programme management role. I am currently based in Greece as
a Grants Manager with the International Rescue Commitee so am extremely familiar with the
challenges of operating in the Greek context. In previous roles, I have had to take on elements of
project implementation, such as project design and monitoring, and coordination of implementing
partners- I believe this experience combined with my strong Project Cycle Management, proposal and
report writing and excellent communication skills make me a strong candidate for this role.

While my responsibilities in my current role include donor proposals and reporting, there is also a
heavy focus on financial management (both at programmatic and project level) as well as donor
compliance- all skills which would be useful for this role. Prior to this position, I was employed by GOAL
as a Grants Manager, firstly in Turkey on their Syria programme (August 2015-16), and then in Sierra
Leone (September-December 2016). GOAL Syria was GOALs biggest programme, with a budget of
$157 million in 2015, allowing me to gain experience of working on a large-scale emergency response.
Over the course of my time with GOAL Syria, I developed, wrote and submitted large-scale funding
proposals to a range of donors (DFID, ECHO, OCHA-HPF, WFP, UNHCR, NCA) and was responsible for
all donor reporting. I then moved to Sierra Leone to work on GOALs post-Ebola programme, which
also allowed me to gain experience in long-term development programming. In both roles with GOAL,
I worked closely with GOAL staff, local partners and sub-grantees to ensure high quality programme
implementation as well as building capacities by providing trainings on reporting, donor compliance
and grant management tools.

In all my roles I have had to show a high level of personal diplomacy and the ability to manage the
expectations of the many internal and external actors and stakeholders. Throughout my career to date
I have always shown myself to be hardworking, highly motivated, dependable and organised. I can
show initiative where necessary and am capable of working both independently and as part of a team,
building strong professional relationships. I am used to working in multicultural environments and have
particularly enjoyed working in Greece.
