Name of lesson: History know it it always repeats!

Grade Level Appropriateness: 5th grade

Technology Content Standard Addressed: 2.C.5.1 - Use digital resources to research about places,
people, and world cultures.
Other Content Standard Addressed: H3.5.2 - Recognize that communities include people who have
diverse ethnic origins, customs, and traditions, and who make contributions to the United States

Objective: Student will use technology to research and then can recognize the similarities and
differences of their place of living, culture, and traditions to those in an identified time.
Materials needed to facilitate the lesson: Chromebook, PowerPoint, Word doc.
Suggested group size: Students can work in pairs of groups less than four.
Procedures: Students will identify with their partner or group what they are going to research
based upon previously taught lessons. Students will use their Chromebooks to go to the previous
identified website to research their topics. Students will use PowerPoint or Word doc to record
their research. Students will work together to determine what information they will need to use
for their research. Students will create a presentation for their classmates. Students will present
their presentation.
Assessment: The following rubric will be used to determine students knowledge of their
identified historical place of living, culture, and traditions. How it is similar and different from
their own life. Their proficiency in the use of technology.
