Dad Do you think our doggy likes Daddy or
Mommy better?
Mom Of course, it’s Mommy.
Dad Nope, I don’t think so (lit. no such thing).
Mom Okay, there’s a way to settle this. Mommy is
here. Daddy is over there. The dog is in the
middle. Alright, go!
Dad Come here, Kojiro. Daddy loves you. Good
boy. This way. Come here. Kojiro, please.
Mom Come here. Kojiro, I’ll give you some treats.
This way, here, come on.

It’s the same thing every week-woof. It’s bor-
ing-woof. But for a good meal, what can you
do. I’ll put on an act-woof. Hmm, last week
was Papa, this week will be Mama-woof.
Woof, woof.
Mom Kojiro, I knew it - you’re a good boy.
Dad Kojiro, you traitor.

Today’s grammar point is the imperative conjugation of the Class III verb kuru - to come. This type of im-
perative is extremely strong and is primarily used in threatening or hostile situations, emotionally charged
gatherings (e.g. politically related, sporting events, etc.), when addressing oneself, by males in very infor-
mal speech, in situations where time is of the essence (e.g. dangerous situation), or by a superior to a subor-
dinate in a social organization where the hierarchy oI power and one`s position in it are clearly established.
Here the male speaker is addressing an animal, and does so in the imperative as the dog is socially inferior
to him. The imperative form of kuru has a unique conjugation.
