isselected.Don'tclickonanyfacesbeforeAutoCADhasselectedtheface.It'sessentialthatyouplace
thepickboxvirtuallyonthefacebehindbeforeyouhitthespacebar,seeimagebelow.Youcanalso
selecttheotherfacesusingthesameprocedure.

FromAutoCAD2007abrilliantnew3Dcommandarrived.It'scalledPresspull.Ifyouhavemadea3D
boxandwanttomakeaholethroughyoucandothatwithPRESSPULL.Firstyoucreatearectanglewith
apolylineontopof1faceonthe3Dbox.NextyouactivatePRESSPULLcommandandclickinsidethe
rectangle.Nowyoucanmakeaholebypullingthefaceontherectangleinsidethebox.Youcanusethis
commandfortheexistingfacesofanobject,orbyimprintingadditionalfacesonanobjectandpulling
thoseinsideoroutside.Ifyoupullitoutsideofthebox,thenyoucreateasolidobjectpointingoutfrom
the3Dbox.Youcanalsouse3DPOLYLINEinsteadofpolyline.FirstalignUCSsoit'sparallelwiththe
sideyouaremakingahole.Scrolldownonthispagetoseetutorial"CreatingaWallwithPolysolid".

3DModelinginAutoCADwithLoft

WiththeLOFTcommand,youcancreateanewsolidorsurfacebyspecifyingaseriesofcrosssections.
Thecrosssectionsdefinetheprofile(shape)oftheresultingsolidorsurface.Itisrecommendtouse
<crosssectionsonly>or"Path",becauseit'seasiertoapplythan"Guides".Usecrosssectionswitharcs,
polylines,linesorpolygons.Ifyouuseclosedpolylinesorcirclesascrosssections,thenLOFTcreatesa
solidinthespacebetweenthecrosssections.Youmustspecifyatleasttwocrosssectionswhenyouuse
