This Method of Statement is exclusively intended and applicable in this particular project
only for the Exposed and Concealed Piping Systems for ceiling, slab and wall. This
method is applicable for both rigid steel conduit, intermediate metallic conduit, electric
metal tubing, pvc and flexible conduits as permitted for installation in the building.

1.2. Work Coverage

Cover in this particular work is the supply of manpower and resources by PT. Kinden
Indonesia to the point of completion including inspection and acceptance.

These materials are locally purchase within the vicinity in Republic of Indonesia and
subject to delivery by the supplier. Proper handling shall be carried out to avoid
deformation of the piping materials. Proper protection also shall be consider in order to
prevent further damage and corrosion of the materials.
For storage of metallic conduit, consider the following:
a. Do not lay the pvc conduit on the ground. Always place a piece of wood under the
metallic conduit and stack firmly. (if possible store in a pipe rack)
b. Do not expose the threaded end of metallic conduit to moisture, instead wrap
thoroughly with plastic to avoid corrosion.
For storage of PVC conduit, consider the following:
a. Do not lay the pvc conduit on the ground. Always place a piece of wood under the
metallic conduit and stack firmly. (if possible store in a pipe rack)
b. Do not expose the PVC conduit to direct sunlight, instead put a suitable shelter or
shed that the head of the sun cannot penetrate to the PVC conduit.

2.3 . Check and Inspection

Prior to acceptance, the materials shall be thoroughly checks in accordance to materials
receiving checklist, FM/OPR E026.

It is required to study the entire construction drawing not only electrical drawings
but also the drawings of different trades and discipline such as mechanical,
structural, plumbing / sanitation, slopes and grids and most of all architectural
drawing so that electrical installation can not hinder architectural activities and
design. In order to achieve a harmonious installation, every works shall be
properly review and proper coordination and discussion must be observed.

4.2.2. Check and Coordination

Prior to installation works, ensure that the actual site condition is in safe and
sound for the execution of works, check any obstruction with respect to the
approved shop drawings and immediately coordinate with the people concerns
and proper discussion should be carried out.

4.3. Table and References

4.3.1. Selection of conduit

4.4. Installation Method (Reference : KDI 005; CMWD E005)

Considerations:
A. Coordination between conduits with construction spaces such as elevator shaft,
escalator space, equipment shaft spaces, opening of windows and doors, machine
hatches and other openings shall be seriously considered for the route of
embedded piping.
B. Location that may be flooded, location that maybe heated, and location that the
conduit is prone to damage shall be properly verified if have possible alternatives.
C. Exposed lay out shall be parallel or perpendicular to building grid lines.
D. Avoid any diagonal lay-out for exposed installation.
E. PVC conduits shall be taken care against burning from welding and or cutting
torch.
F. Arrangement route of embedded conduits shall be investigated to reduce
intersection
G. There shall not be more than the equivalent of three quarter bends (270deg total)
H. Bending limits on conduits within 90degrees bends shall be R=6D of outside
diameter of conduits within 3 locations at the right angle.
I. After cutting of metallic conduit, edge shall be properly ream to remove sharp
particles.
J. All metallic conduits shall be properly bonded with ground to metal boxes.
