Executive summary
The small and midsized business market perception is that SAP is too big, too
sophisticated and too expensive to implement. These are some of the challenges that SAP
Business partners have to overcome.

Synactive with SAP offers the GuiXT Product Suite to complement the existing SAP SMB
solutions. It provides optimization tools that further enhance and tailor-fit pre-configured
vertical solutions available to small and midsized organizations. The bundling of GuiXT
solution delivered in SAPs user interfaces enables partners to provide SMB with high
need for individualizations and industry-specific functionally to easily and rapidly
implement SAP.

The Alliance program enables SAPs Business partners to engage companies that require
cost-effective solutions that can be up and running quickly. The program consists of
comprehensive set of programs and services to help Alliance Partners develop and
promote their solutions in conjunction with GuiXT Product Suite.

1. Program Overview
The Alliance program is an extension of Synactives commitment to support SAP and
SAP Business Partners by providing them the tools to demonstrate ease of use for the
different SAP applications and by quickly creating custom views that mimic your
prospects business process. Not only does this eliminate any potential usability issues, it
also demonstrates how configurable and flexible SAP, ITS and Mobile solution.

The Synactive Alliance Program supports consulting, technology and service


organizations that want to develop and deliver their products and services in conjunction
with Synactives GuiXT Product Suite.

GuiXT is a very easy to use tool for 'adapting' a SAP UI

2. Enabling the Alliance


To enable successful partnership, Synactive provides Alliance Partners access to GuiXT
Components, technical support and training. Partners also benefit from up-to-date
marketing, product information and case studies. This section describes the information
and support resources available through our Alliance Program.

2.1. Information Repository


Alliance Information Repository provides up-to-date product information, joint
marketing opportunities, technical whitepapers, case studies, news and events. The
Alliance Information Repository allows partners to maximize their effectiveness in
demonstrating, developing, marketing and presenting SAP solution with GuiXT.

2.2. Partner Communication
The Alliance Partner periodically receives a partner newsletter via email. The newsletter
highlights product updates and new releases, announces partner-only Web seminars or
education events, and promotes upcoming marketing opportunities.

2.3. Alliance Partner Education


The training for Alliance Partners provides participants with required expertise to
position, install, configure, and demonstrate the GuiXT Solution.

2.3.1. Instructor-Led Courses


The training occurs on Alliance Partners facility. Hands-on labs, discussions and
question and answer sessions reinforce lectures and demonstrations. The training
fee is discounted based on the partnership level.

GuiXT Essentials Training is recommended. The comprehensive four day


training program teaches participants the fundamental concepts of setting up,
customizing and streamlining SAP business processes. GuiXT solutions,
architecture, syntax, usage, deployment and pre-built capabilities are taught in
the context of proven implementation strategy by certified Synactive instructors.
Through a series of hands-on labs and exercises, participants practice key task
associated with developing and deploying GuiXT screens.

2.3.2. Web-Based Training and Web Seminars


Synactive currently provides Alliance partners with access to web-based training
courses, (including technical and fundamental courses). These are the same
courses that Synactive provides to employees and customers. Synactive also
conducts free, interactive Web seminars for partners on a variety of topics.

2.4. Partner Communication


The Alliance Partner periodically receives a partner newsletter via email. The newsletter
highlights product updates and new releases, announces partner-only Web seminars or
education events, and promotes upcoming marketing opportunities.

2.5. Limited Use Software Licenses


 Demonstration Licenses 30-day demonstration licenses can be obtained by contacting SYNACTIVE;
to be used for demonstrating Products to potential customers. Demonstration licenses can be extended
to one (1) year provided that PARTNER closes a minimum of five (5) sales in the previous year.

 Not-for-Resale Software Licenses Not-for-Resale can be issued to PARTNER to demonstrate


Products, develop scripts intended for marketing, customer development, prototype development,
train employees and provide value added service to customers. Not-for-Resale Licenses are issued for
the purposes of assisting PARTNER in fulfilling its obligations under the Agreement and may not be
used for other purposes. Not-for-Resale Software Licenses is valid only for the duration of this
Agreement. PARTNER will receive on Not-for-Resale license at a 40% reduction off the list price.

2.5.1. Limited Use Software Prerequisites and Restrictions
The GuiXT Product suite requires a minimum level of education and expertise to operate
with optimum performance. Prior to releasing software to the partner, Synactive verifies
that at lease one individual from the partner organization has successfully completed the
minimum training requirements and is GuiXT Certified.

Partners may not use any portion of the Product suite for any commercial or for profit
purposes, including without limitation; reproduction and distribution of any third
parties; sublicensing, subcontracting, or outsourcing the use of any portion of the
software or documentation in connection with any services, training or instructional
purposes; or any commercial or for-profit uses. Product use of Synactive components
requires different support and legal agreements with Synactive.

3. Technical Support
The Alliance Partners access the same world class Synactive Technical Support team that
serves Synactives highly satisfied customer base. In connection with the Limited Use
Software Agreement, Synactive Technical Support provides several important sources of
product knowledge and assistance:

have formal documentation on your issue. Those mechanisms also allow you

4. Collaborative Opportunities
Synactive may invite select partners to participate in beta software testing for major
releases of GuiXT components. Synactive may also invite partners with deep industry
experience to assist Synactive in defining new products. Synactive may also invite
partners with unique functional or industry specific expertise to collaborate with
Synactive personnel regarding demonstrations and white papers for joint solutions.
Partner benefits include:

and engineers who design, build and test Synactive products

5. Selling Solutions
Synactive does not offer our Alliance Partners the ability to resell any part of our product
offering at this time. This does not preclude our Alliance Partners from demonstrating
their integrated solution which includes components of the GuiXT Product Suite.

The designated Account Manager will supply all necessary pricing to partner (upon
request) for partner presentation if so desired. If partner prefers to have Synactive
participate in presales activity, Synactive can also provide that service

Alliance Partners area able to submit leads via email to alliancepartner@synactive.net.


Lead registration enables a partner to engage Synactive sales team quickly and to register
new opportunities which ensures full support of the Synactive Sales and Technical team.

Referral Fee Program: Alliance Partners will receive a commission of 5% for a sale made
by Synactive as a result of a direct referral by an Alliance Partner. A commission will be
credited to an Alliance Partner after Synactive receives full payment from the Customer.
Commissions will be issued via check only, made payable to the Alliance Partner and
mailed to the mailing address provided to Synactive.

6. Marketing Solutions
The Alliance Program provides partners with opportunities to promote their solutions to
Synactive customers, prospects and other partners. Alliance marketing opportunities
span the entire marketing mix, including branding, awareness, lead generation and
customer marketing. This section describes several marketing benefits and assistance:

6.1. Alliance Partner Directory


The Partner Directory on GUIXT.COM provides Alliance Partners with a forum to
promote their company, promote their solutions, and highlight their relationships
with Synactive.

6.2. Press Releases


Press releases provide a channel for Alliance Partners to increase visibility for their
company, product, and relationship with Synactive. Press releases may cover topics
such as partnership creation, validation, customer success stories, and other
newsworthy topics. Synactive may contribute to the content of a press release with a
partner.

NOTE: To ensure consistent messaging and clear communication with customers and
the media, it is an essential requirement that partners receive written consent from
Synactive before issuing a press release mentioning Synactive.

6.3. Lead Generation Programs
Synactive markets GuiXT solutions through customer marketing, lead generation,
branding, and awareness. Synactive conducts lead generation campaigns and tactics
with partners to identify prospects, drive event registration, and ensure successful
lead follow-up. Typical lead generation tactics include:

 Conferences - To promote best practices in sales, marketing, and service to


decision-makers from several target accounts.
 Online Workshops - To provide a forum for Synactive and partners to
showcase the technical merits of a joint solution to SAP customers.

6.4. Branding and Awareness Programs


Alliance Partners that commit to greater investments in joint marketing also have the
opportunity to join Synactive in branding and awareness campaigns that increase
market recognition of joint solutions. These campaigns create a favorable market
climate for sales activity and help solidify the perceived association of Synactive and
its partners. Areas for joint marketing investment with partners include joint
advertising, customer success stories, or joint presentations to the media and industry
analysts.

7. Alliance Partner Requirements
To be eligible to be Synactive Alliance Partner, a company must meet the following
requirements

 Completed 4-day GuiXT Essentials training: minimum of 5 people


 5 Consultants to pass the Certification Test
 Purchase 5 days of Consulting ($ 1,650/day)
 Minimum joint opportunity to close: 5 per year
 Partner-assigned Alliance Resource: 5

8. GuiXT Product Suite Overview

8.1. GuiXT: Changing the layout and language


GuiXT comes bundled in SAP R/3. This limited version will allow you to perform simply
layout customization, move/delete fields, table columns and pushbuttons. It will also
allow you to modify field text, headings and pushbutton labels on a per screen basis.
Additionally, you can display images and cause specific actions in R/3 to take place
when the image is clicked.

8.2. Input Assistant: Combine multiple screens to change procedure

InputAssistant works in tandem with GuiXT to combine multiple tabs, Screens or


Transactions into one without changing any ABAP or R/3 business logic. Input Assistant
can also interact with external programs and websites. Your users will be able to enter
data faster by taking utilizing such automations as default fill in values for different fields
and eliminate redundant entry of various R/3 fields

8.3. Designer: Tool for changing layout & language with
WYSIWYG capability
The Designer works in tandem with GuiXT to create user-friendly and intuitive SAP
screens for end-users. Designer generates portable GuiXT scripts with extensive
support for Drag and Drop automations. Screens modified using GuiXT do not affect
how ABAP programs and its corresponding business logic are running on the R/3
server. The control and program flow, as well as logic of all applications remains
unchanged.

The Designer enables users to:


 modify the view, change position, and delete fields or groups of fields, using simple mouse
clicks
 add pushbuttons, radiobuttons, inputfields, group boxes, images, etc.
 modify on-screen text and add tips
 toggle between the more advance Script Mode and WYSIWYG view

8.4. GuiXT Studio: Static Code Analyzer for GuiXT and Input
Scripts
GuiXT Studio is a code analysis tool for GuiXT source code. It offers code navigation
using a detailed cross reference, a syntax colorizing "smart" editor, and a variety of
graphical views. GuiXT Studio is an interactive development environment (IDE)
designed to help maintain and understand large amounts of GuiXT source code.

8.5. Viewer
GuiXT Viewer allows you to embed HTML and RTF controls on SAP GUI window.
This HTML control is a full fledged browser and can run Java applets, Java scripts as
well as ActiveX programs. Viewer are required to have Internet Explorer 4.0 and
above to operate. With the Viewer, you can create templates to be used with HTML
and RTF controls. A User can now interact with SAP GUI from a web page or a web
site. Users can also retrieve data from external web applications and populate SAP
screens.

8.6. GuiXT RF: Customize SAPConsole
GuiXT RF allows you to combine multiple screens or create special customized data
entry screens of standard R/3 transactions without changing any ABAP code within
the SAP Console. These changes can be made through the drag & drop interface and
minimal scripting. The modified view does not replace SAP Components; it merely
extends and enhances them using the same scripting engine technology already
bundled with SAP GUI.

8.7. GuiXT Server: Tool for seamlessly deploying GuiXT
GuiXT Server makes GuiXT and Input Assistant deployment seamless. It offers
centralized mechanism to deploy and configure GuiXT software without updating client
PCs. In that way, GuiXT Server lowers the cost of implementing GuiXT by making the
deployment as easy as changing (or adding) an entry in the SAPLOGON. Additionally,
GuiXT Server is fault-tollerant and supports large scale deployment of GuiXT by load-
balancing among GuiXT Servers.

8.8. GuiXT Mobile: Customize SAPGUI for CE and PocketPC
Devices
GuiXT Mobile makes R/3 screens and Dynpros accessible directly on Pocket PC and
hand-held devices running Microsoft CE Operating System. Along with GuiXT
Server (or GuiXT RF), new screens and user interface can be developed very easily
and economically (from existing transactions and screen) for the RF devices,
streamlining flow of information from the warehouse floor to R/3 system directly.
Utilizing existing SAP communication protocol, GuiXT Mobile can connect directly to
R/3. For the RF devices, Synactives GuiXT Mobile provides for automatic
identification of where data should go as soon as it is scanned, allowing warehouse
users to scan labels in ANY order; and still have the transaction complete
successfully.
