Name of Experiment:Verification of Superposition Theorem.

Superposition Theorem:The superposition theorem states that the voltage across (or current)
an element in a linear circuit is the algebraic sum of the voltages across (or current) that element
due to each independent source acting alone.
Equipment and Accessories:
1. DC power supply (5V)
2. Ammeter
3. Voltmeter
4. Wires
5. Resistors (R1 = 118.78,R2= 243, R3= 114.50, R4 = 219)
Circuit Diagram:

Procedure:
1. At first the circuit was like in Fig:1 then we turned off all independent sources except one
like Fig: 2. Then calculated the voltage and current due to that active source.
2. Then repeated the same for each of the other independent sources like Fig: 3.
3. Then found total contribution by adding algebraically all the contributions due to the
independent sources.
4. Then measured the current & voltage across/through that branch keeping all the
independent sources active using Fig: 1.
5. Then calculated current/voltage across/through that terminal theoretically.
Result:Here, R1 = 118.78,R2= 243,
R3= 114.50, R4 = 219
I = 16 mA
V = 3.8 V
From experiment we got, I1 = 4mA, I2 = 11 mA and V1 = 1V, V2 = 2.9V
We know, I = I1+ I2 = 15mA and V = V1+ V2 = 3.9V
So,
1615.
Error for I: 100% = 6.25%
16
3.93.8
Error for V: 100% = 2.5%
3.9
Discussion:First We put the resistors in breadboard. Then turned off independent sources
except one and measure current & voltage. when we measured current and voltage of the circuit
having every sources on we measured current because of error but we found some error.
