Evidence: Blog What you wouldnt recommend

In this activity you are going to participate in the blog What you wouldnt
recommend, in order to talk about a book or a movie you recently saw or read.
The only requirement for choosing your book or film is that you have not
enjoyed it at all. After selecting it, you need to write in the blog a short review of
it explaining your reasons for not to recommending it. When writing your review,
take into account the following questions you need to answer:

If your review is about a book:

o Who wrote the book?

o When was it published?
o Where does the story take place?
o What is the book about?
o Why didnt you like it?
o Was there something you liked about the book?
o Why did you read it?

If your review is about a movie:

o Who directed it?

o When was it premiered?
 o Where does the story take place?
o What is the movie about?
o Who are the main actors?
o Why didnt you like it?
o Was there something you liked about the movie?
o Why did you watch it?

Here is an example:

I recently saw the movie 2012 end of the world. I saw the movie because it
was the only choice available on TV on a Saturday afternoon. The movie was
directed by Roland Emmerich and written by Harold Kloser and Roland
Emmerich. It was starred by John Cusack and Chiwetel Ejiofor and premiered in
November 2009.

The story takes place in our world which has been affected by a super huge
natural disaster that includes earthquakes, volcano eruptions, tsunamis, etc.
The Earth is basically destroyed, and survivors dwell in earth trying to find a
save place. After the disaster, a group of fighters travel around The United
States trying to locate a magic map that will take them to some arks in the Tibet.
At that point (probably half the movie) I could not stand the movie anymore and
then changed the channel. I did not watch the end but I found out on internet,
that they managed to get to the ark and saved themselves to start a new era of
mankind.

I didnt like the movie because its story is way too fictional. Besides, it is difficult
to tell whether it is a love story, a drama or a science fiction movie. (I think it has
a bit of everything). The characters performances are poor and the story is
complicated. It seems rather like a documentary of a natural disaster. The only
thing I liked was the special effects used. Those were great. Basically, I think
that is the only thing I liked about it. I would give this movie two stars just
because of the special effects.

Use passive voice in your review (in at least five examples). Use the vocabulary
and ideas about reviews (at least 6 words from the vocabulary). Remember to
use connectors and punctuation.

For the second part of this activity you have to read your partners posts. Select
two and through the link Comentario write your opinion about your partners
posts. Use the vocabulary and ideas about movies and books. Dont forget to
use connectors and punctuation.

3. Explore your learning mates comments and, then, give constructive
feedback by clicking on Comentario.
4. Once you have written the comment, click on Aadir.

Criterios de evaluacin
