1. This Notice of Objection is filed on behalf of Colleges and Institutes Canada

(CICan).

2. CICan is the national, voluntary membership organization representing publicly

supported post-secondary colleges, institutes, cegeps and polytechnics in
Canada, and internationally. CICans current membership is composed of 124
member institutions.

3. In accordance with the Copyright Act, the Objectors hereby give notice that they
object to the Statement of Proposed Royalties to Be Collected by Access Copyright
for the Reproduction, Communication to the Public by Telecommunication, Making
Available to the Public, in Canada, of Works in its Repertoire in the Years 2018 to
2020.

4. The Objectors would be affected by this tariff proposal. The Objectors objections
include, but are not limited to, the amount of the proposed royalties.

5. The Objectors reserve the right to raise further objections in light of the evidence
that the Copyright Board will receive in the course of its examination of this tariff
proposal.

6. The Objectors request that the Copyright Board allow them to participate as a party
in any public hearing or process initiated by the Board for the consideration of this
tariff proposal.
