I am writing to apply for a position into the physicians assistant program in the MEDEX/UW
physicians assistant program. I have attached my resume to the following letter to add to why I
would be qualified for the opportunity to attend this university. At Washington State University I
have learned many skills in my biological science classes as well as my psychological science
classes.

During my senior year of high school, I first gained an interest in this field after watching
countless extraction videos. Initially, going to medical school and becoming a doctor was my
main goal that I wanted to achieve. However, I decided I wanted to become a PA in a specialized
field after seeing how my dad struggled to make timely appointments to meet with a specialized
physician when he was diagnosed with a severe case of osteoporosis. This event came right after
my family experienced a storm of financial problems.

I want to specialize in dermatology because, even though the skin is the largest organ, it seems
that its always forgotten. I want to be able to provide readily available healthcare for patients
that do not have the opportunity to make an appointment with a physician; whether that be for
scheduling issues or financial issues. With my minor is psychology, I also want to do research on
why individuals feel that their confidence depends on how dark their tan is. For my clinical
hours, I plan on working as a medical assistant in Spokane, working with both specialized and
general PAs and physicians. Im very excited to potentially attend such a renowned university,
and I know that my skills would make a great contribution.
