Students will implement these tasks:

TASK 1: Academic Writing (40 %) - Individual

According to Terri Mauco (2004), factors like dysfunctioning of the brain, food and familly
problems often cause emotional disturbances amongst children that lead them to negative
behaviours like depression, anxiety, anger, show lack of love, trust and rejection; difficulty in
relating to others and involve in conflicts due to two or more emotions.

As an educator, give your suggestion on the measure that can be taken by teachers to handle
emotional disturbances among students in the contexts of teaching and learning practice in the
classroom.

TASK 2: Presentation (10%) - Group

Nowadays, teachers career becomes more challenging whereby teachers inevitably have to
cope current issues like national integration, democratisation of education, pillars of education
(UNESCO), globalisation in education, multiculture, influence of information technology and
communication and social problems amongst children. Nevertheless all these need to be tackled
and managed by teachers professionally.

Choose one of the issues listed under the topic Current Issues and Challenges; do some
analysis and present using suitable software.

INSTRUCTION IN IMPLEMENTING THE TASKS:

Task 1: Academic Writing

Plagiarism is not allowed. Student will be failed if he/she does not comply to

Evidences, materials and citations that support your ideas should be enclosed.
Overall contents and elaborations should show genuine research and
academic support.
Format and organisation of report should be clear and coherent.
Academic writing should show fluency, maturity ability to interpret information
critically and analytically.
Writing contains elements of application of thinking skills.
Reflective writing that contains elements of reflective thinking.

Task 2: Presentation

1. Task 2 is a group presentation. Each group comprises 2 or 3 members.


2. Each member in the group should be involved in presentation.
3. Time allocated for group presentation is 30 minutes.
4. Presentation materials should use suitable software.
5. The first slide should mention the title of presentation and names of group members.
6. The last slide should show the references.
7. Presentation materials should be submitted in two forms: softcopy and handcopy. These
should be handed in to the lecturer before presentation takes place.
8.The mark for this task is 10 marks.
