APPENDIX 2A

WORKS AREAS

(Clause ERC 3(1) refer)

1. WORKS AREAS

(1) Works Areas

(a) The Site is divided into a series of Works Areas, which aredivided into
Construction Depot And Work Sites, that will be made available to the
Contractor at different times and for various durations as shown on the
Schedule of Works Area availability overleaf. These Works Areas are
illustrated in the Drawings. In order to avoid doubt, should any discrepancies
be found in the definition of the extent of these Works Areas between the
Figures in this Appendix and the Drawings, the Drawings shall prevail.

(b) The descriptions of the Works Areas given below are indicativeand the
Contractor shall satisfy its self as to the exact nature of the various Works
Areas and the extent of works to be carried out prior to the execution of the
Permanent Works or making use of the area as working space and/or for
temporary site facilities.

(c) The Contractor shall submit to the Employer's Representative proposals for
the use and occupation of these Works Areas, such submissions being at
leastsixty (60) days prior to the programmed use of the specific Works Area.

(d) Prior to the Key Dates or the Works Area Handover Dates (shown in
Appendix 2C) for returning any Works Area, the Contractor shall carry out the
following works:

(i) construct all Permanent Works within the area in accordancewith the
requirements of the Contract,

(ii) reinstate the area to the condition as close as possible to its condition
when it was taken over, except where the contractrequires
construction of Permanent Works,

(iii) propose final modifications / changesto the area, at locations where it
is not possible or desirable toreinstate the area to its original
condition, to the Employer’s representativefor approval and form the
area to the approved lines and levels and carry out such other works
as may be required by the Employer's Representative,

(iv) remove all rubbish, debris and other materials.

At the Central Secretariat Over Run Tunnels and at Delhi Main Station the Contractor will be required to provide access through the cut and cover structure from ground level to track level through each tunnel. the Contractor is obliged to co-ordinate with the Designated Contractors and provide storage. Contract MC1B . sleepers and vehicles for laying track. pulling cables and installing Designated Contractors’ equipment. 3. In addition to the above works areas. 2.0 metre at Delhi Main. 2001 . staging and unloading areas. The access will be for delivery of rails.
