A. WORK OVERVIEW:

I. SCOPE OF WORK :
Supply of labor, materials together with the use of all necessary tools and equipment,
including all establishment charges and everything else necessary for the due and proper
completion of the Supply and Installation.
- Preliminaries, mobilization and demobilization of all necessary equipment and
accessories that may be required for the execution of the works;

- Supply of labor, materials;


- Drive testing piles 06 piles.
- Drive all the pile of 3 Tank T-0206, T-0207; T-0208
II. PROJECT SCALE:
- Diameter Pre-stressed Spun Pile D500.
- Pile test: 06 piles.
- Pile length: according to the foundation calculation and foundation drawing.
- Working load: according t o the foundation calculation and foundation drawing.
- Pmax= 3Ptk.

IV. PREPARATION OF PLAN :
- Plan will be hand over to construction unit with area which will be sufficient for
deploying facilities.
- Plan will be prepared level ground and have hardness enough which can
arrange pressing pile machine and storage.
- Supply access to transport facilities, machine and pile to position for
construction.
- Arrange a container 20' as site office and temporary store approved by
Employer.

V. POSITIONING PILE:
- Locating of foundations grid lines should be based on specified benchmarks as
currently regulations. As usual, benchmarks for grid lines location are driving
piles that are at least 10m away from the outer grid line. In the minutes of
benchmarks hand over, it must be the benchmarks outline with coordinates as well
as levels. Locating of piles during the piling work must be done by experienced
surveyor and under the operation of Contractors Engineer in important project,
Supervisor must be at the site.

1. Marking a gridline:
- Position of pile will be determined by three points A, B; C selected which
made a triangle controlling plan and altitude.
- To drive three concrete piles 15x15x150cm at A, B C points.
- These piles will be cover all plan of pilling and outside construction area.
They will be remained during time of pressing pile and acceptance of pile.
- Edges and corners of triangle net ABC will be measured, adjusted to have a
relative position of top A, B, C approved by Engineer. They will a base for
determining position of pressing pile.

2. Defining a position of pile:


- Based on current drawings issued for construction, the survey team will
calculate the co-ordinate of piles in office and set out the centre location of all
piles to be pressed on site. The set out pegs shall contain the Identification No.
of the pile to be pressed.

VI. PRESSING PILE


1. Preparation:
- Hydraulic jack make compressive force 1.4 times max compressive force
assigned by each pile.
- Hydraulic gauge have to verify, adjusting board issued by authorized unit and
still value.
- Pressure pump system will be tight with a suitable volume.
- Check the weight of concrete elements which is used loads how they are
appropriate with capability of jack to make a max compressive force for each
pile.

2. Pressing Pile
- Piles accepted will be transported to site, unloading by crane 35T and move to
storage.
- Check the certificate of manufacture of piles come site.
- Check actual dimension of piles by eyes.
- Marks on the body pile divided by the length of piles.
- Geodetic put to monitor the vertical measurement of the pile and the pile
settlement

- Adjusting top of pile in place as positioned by wooden pile. Center of pile is
made vertically by plumb line or theodolite at two different positions directed
toward center of pile. Fix pile.
- Adjusting jack system how direction of pressing force coincides with center of
pile.
- Pressing force will be raised step by step how speed of pile goes through
ground less than 10cm/s.
- Piles weld.
- Manufacture and fix joint as design. When jointing, surface of two piles will flat
and coaxial, segment of pile jointed will be pressed 10% - 15% design load to
make surface contacted two piles.
- Pile weld joints ensure to compliance with provisions of the bearing design, these
defects have not been following:
- Welding size is different from design.
- Height or width of the weld is not uniform.
- The weld was not straight, the weld surface was pitted, so heat, spilled,
cracked, etc..
- Keeping pressing, in final stage (when length and pressing force reached value
specified) pressure meter will be always checked.
- Pmin, Pmax as assigned by design.
- The pressing will be finished when :
The length of the piles had pressed in the ground for about:
Lmin Lp Lmax
In which: Lmax = the design length, details in the construction drawing.
Lmin = 12m.
Note : actual length of pile according to static load test pile result.
Pressure to stop the during of about:
Pmin Pp Pmax
In which: D500: Pmin = 2Ptk; Pmax = 3Ptk
The pile toe go inside the hard soil layer with the length 3 5
times of pile size.

VII.ERROR OF POSITION:
- At bottom level of pile cap, top of pile will be not aberrant more than 75mm
position designed.
- If error of position exceeded, solution will be issued by Engineer. Mechanical
method will be not used to set pile to position with allowed error.

- Note : Deviated pile will be not exceeded 25% total of pile which arranged in
line and 5% when arrange in group. Using pile which has deviation more
than the value in sheet will be approved by Design.

VIII. QUALITY CONTROL AND ACCEPTANCE


1. Quality control
- Quality of precast concrete products such as prestressed spun piles fabricated
shall be controled in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 by the Laboratory Dept.
Product record shall be provided with each pile at delivery.

- Foreman and technician shall be present at the site. They shall be equipped with
theodolite, concrete gun, etc.
- All materials together with original certificate used for the project such as
sand, stone, reinforcement, admixture, etc. shall be strictly inspected for each
lot.
- In case of request of consultant or engineer, re-inspection shall be done
accordingly.
2. Acceptance
- The Contractor must have engineers at the site to regularly monitor the pile
installation works, log piles record. Supervision consultant or
representatives of the Client should be inspected with the Contractor under
the provisions of the piles installation stop as mentioned above, take the
minutes of inspection according to the form. In case of any incidents or
damages, the Contractor must notify the Designer to have the appropriate
treatment solutions; the problems should be solved soon as mass piling is
being pressed. As inspecting is only valid and non-disputed document.
- After finishing each construction item, relative parties shall do partial
acceptance, and the final acceptance shall be done when whole project
finished. During construction, every item finished (or whole project finished) shall
be reported in written to consultant and owner and consultant and owner shall
do the acceptance at least 02 days upon contractors notice.
The inspecting of piling work to be carried out bases on the following
documents

a) Approved Design documents.

b) The minutes of inspection for the set-out survey of foundation

c) Pile finished certification

d) Log pile records and inspection minutes of piles

e) Piling as-built documents that shows the different of positions in plan and
depth as well as the approved addition piles and design changes.

f) The results of static load test.

B. PROCEDURE FOR WELDING 2 SPUNS PILE
The purpose of this procedure is to describe the method of welding 2 spun pile
during the piling work.
1. Material: Welding Electrodes, steel plate (if necessary) and Spun pile
c/w Pile head steel plate
2. Equipment: Welding machine, Piling machine
3. Description:
The sequence and method:
1)Check out the deformation and crack of the Pile head steel plate
and concrete piles before the driving the pile.
2)The Piles shall be installed, located and adjusted for center line straightly
as designed.
3)If the lower pile is underground, the upper pile would be hold vertically
on top. During the welding, pressure on top of upper pile is 10-15%
design load.
4)Check center pile with surveying machine or other specialized machines.
5)The surfaces to be welded shall be thoroughly cleaned from oxide,
scale, paint, oil or other foreign materials. Cooling concrete pile before
welding.
6)Tack Weld shall be carried out.
7)The weld preparation shall be pre-heated to the temperature as
prescribed in the relevant procedure (If required). During welding time,
the pre-heat treatment is not carried out continuously and overheats, to
avoid broken of concrete pile. The welding time is limited at 20 minutes
each time or authority instruction.
8)After finishing first layer, welding is not cooled suddenly ( by spaying
water). After each and every layer of weld, cleaning and slag removing
shall be carried out, to ensure good quality weld. Chipping, gouging (or)
grinding shall be carried out thoroughly to sound metal (if required) prior
to the deposition of subsequent layers

C. COMMON RISK AND CORRECTION METHOD DURING PILING
WORK

Due to geological structure under the ground so heterogeneous, piling works can
occur incidents as below:

- When pressed to a depth less than the designed depth but pressing force is
reached, the pressing speed have to be reduced, increase the pressing force but not
more than Pmax. In the above case, if pile cant press down, but the actual length
of pressing pile in range Lmax and Lmin, with Lmax is designed length, Lmin is 12m,
this pile must be approved. In case the actual length of pressing pile less than Lmin
, immediate stop and inform to three parties to confirm this problem. (normally,
contractor move the equipment to execute another pile position. If there is the
same problem, we must re- design the foundation.)

- In case of cause is due to medium grained sand being pressed too tightly, the
pressing pile is stopped a timeout for soil density and pressure to decrease, after
that continue carry out pressing pipe.

- If the pressing work encountered obstructions, drill guide or create a pile hole.

- When pressed to a design depth that the pile pressing force has not reached
the required calculations. This case occurs because the pile head hasn't yet reached
strong soil layer or sand lens, loose soil. Stopped and inform to three parties to
check, identify causes and give solution. (Normally, the solution in this case is
connect longer pile and press to reach design pressing force).

D. TESTING PILE

We only execute the testing pile when we suspect the quality of pressing pile.
We have two case:
- Execute the PDA test when three parties suspect the pile load do not
meet the load requirements.
- Execute the PIT test when three parties suspect pile is collapsed after
injection (cracks, broken, etc.)

G. SAFETY AND INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE:
1. Environmental and industrial hygiene
- Industrial hygiene on site shall be strictly observed and regularly checked
after each working shift.
- Production area shall be always made clean. Hygiene shall be done after
every working shift. Different kinds of products shall be stored seperately to
facilitate inspection and transport.
- Layout arrangement (office, accommodation and construction area) shall be
kept dry, free of water, and ventilated. All requirements on fire protection
shall be strictly observed. All site wates shall be colected and discharged at
required place. Fuel area shall be kept seperately and strictly contrled to
prevent fire or lost.
2. Construction safety for Product, delivery, storage:
- When loading on the transporting vehicle, supporting timber and pedestal
shall be properly arranged, and the piles shall be tightly fastened with wire to
prevent crack or damege to the pile during transportation.
- Tranportations, storage, driving of pile into the down position must follow
the preventive actions form pile damage. When transport Reinforced Concrete
(RC) as well as unloading them to the gathering yard, there must be wooden
props under the crane hooks. Strictly forbiddent to roll or pull Pile with
string. The storage keeping the Pile shall be located on flat area of hard ground
so that deformation of Pile due to settlement of ground can be prevented and
proper drainage measures shall be made. When storing pile, supporting timper
and pedestal shall be properly arranged to prevent occurrence of excesssive
stress in pile. Location of supporting timper shall be the same for all rows of
stacks.
- Safety shall be in first priority during construction, safety staff shall be present
on site all the time to supervise and to remind workers to observe safety
requirements. Any work not meeting safety requirements shall be stopped
immediately.
- Safety shall be strictly observed. All workers and staff on site shall pass a
course on safety requirements. All safety equipment such as clothes, shoes, hat,
gloves, safety belt, etc. shall be provided and regularly checked during construction.
