The Digestive System

The digestive system breaks down food for nutrients. The blood cells carry the nutrients to other
cells and organs which need them. The digestive system is in your body. Once the food is broken
down it turns into feces. Here is the explanation about the organs in the digestive system and how it
function.

Firstly the food enters the mouth. The teeth crush and grind the food to make it into smaller pieces
with the help of saliva. This makes the food easier for the food to go down the oesophagus.

Secondly the food travels down the oesophagus. The oesophagus is a ten inch pipe that comes from
the mouth to the stomach.

Then the food goes into the stomach to get mushed and crushed with the help of bile. It will make a
thin paste. The bile is stored in the gallbladder.

After that the mushed food goes to the small intestine. The small intestine is a 22-25 feet long pipe.
This is where most of the digestion happens. The villi in the small intestine take out the nutrients
into the bloodstream.

Next the food goes down the large intestine. The large intestine is shorter than the small intestine.
It is 5 feet long and the water gets absorbed here the waste that is left goes to the rectum.

Finally the waste which is called feces is pushed out the rectum
Sistem Pencernaan

Sistem pencernaan memecah makanan untuk nutrisi. Sel darah membawa nutrisi ke sel dan organ
lain yang membutuhkannya. Sistem pencernaan ada di tubuh Anda. Begitu makanan dipecah maka

Akhirnya limbah yang disebut tinja didorong keluar rektum
