Job Description Head of Business Operations

Primary Job Responsibilities:

As the Head of Business Operations for PayPal tech centers in India you will be the key
operational advisor for the GM of Technology for India and will be responsible for all
aspects of strategy and execution to ensure that the technology centers in Chennai and
Bangalore continue to add greater value to PayPal.
You will be responsible for the design of our multi-year strategy, including setting up
teams, devising programs, articulating outcomes and indicators of achievement. You will
work closely with the site leadership teams in Chennai and Bangalore in designing
strategic roadmaps for the organization.
You will be responsible for the execution of strategic initiatives by setting up the right
program management frameworks, measurement KPIs, reporting structures and
composing collaborative teams from various organizations in the centers to achieve
various objectives.
You will work with global stakeholders in HQ and other locations to represent the India
centers and to gather feedback and tune our strategy accordingly.
You will be responsible for oversight of site operations and work closely with ancilliary
functions like Facilities, IT, Security, Legal, Finance etc. to ensure smooth functioning of
our centers in alignment with business goals.
You will be responsible for putting in place effective cost controls through budget
management and financial planning.

Primary Duties:
Serves as confidante and go-to-person for the PayPal India GM and assists other
leadership team members in various ways. Supports PayPal Indias functions according to
circumstances and needs.
Monitor existing business rhythms/processes and proactively partner with functional units
to constantly improve these processes/rhythms
Support the launch of new strategic initiatives
Work with the Finance team to support the GM of Technology in the management of
center budgets
Ensure PayPal is represented at appropriate external commitments and participates in
external sponsorships or awards that align to our business goals.
Advises the GM on various aspects of the business and various programs using effective
business cases and / or financial analysis tools
Participates in program management, organizes and gathers information from various
business units and meetings and reports that information, along with recommendations,
to GM office and other leaders within the organization.
Act as the bridge between various Business Units and all the support functions in the
organization to drive consistent value for the business.
Participating in the development of financial strategies along with FP&A team and would
be responsible for managing the budgets for the centers.
Broadly responsible for the coordination and execution of strategic initiatives, effective
running of the center operations, managing employee engagement and closely monitor
all the critical projects for the success of GMs office and the center.

Experience

MBA from Tier-1 institute, with 10+ year experience in the technology field.
Strong project management experience having lead large, multi-site projects with
multiple dependencies(10 years+)
People management experience with teams larger than 10 people (5 years +)
Strong working knowledge of external systems, PC based internet and software
applications (Internet, Microsoft Office - Powerpoint, Word, Excel)
Working knowledge of analytics tools and applications (Excel, Tableau, Microstrategy or
similar)
Excellent communication skills with a proven record of working closely with Executive
leadership.
Prior entrepreneurial experience sets up the role for heightened success.
Knowledge of the payments domain would be a definite plus.
