WHATS HAPPENING ?
TECHNOLOGY HAS HAD, AND IS HAVING, AN INTIMATE IMPACT ON SOCIETY

Development, adoption and use has the potential to change underlying social values.

These eects are often unanticipated, sometimes even unobserved. They relate to our values,
norms and behaviours - they have ethical implications at the social level.

Professionals creating these technologies, enabling these new behaviours, can be placed in
situations 10 where they have to assess how they are changing people, organizations and society -
they have ethical implications at the personal level when making decisions.

One day, you might be in Edward Snowdens shoes. 9
