1.1AbbreviatedOperatingProcedures
Step1:Installthedeviceandpoweritup.
Step 2: Enroll users by registering his/her fingerprints, passwords or
card.Assignusers'securityprivilegesdirectlyonthedevice.
Step 3: After enrolling users, verify that his/her enrolled fingerprint,
passwordsorcardisvalid.
Step 4: Configure the device communication settings. Then download
the users' newly enrolled information from the device onto the
AttendanceManagement on the computer. Data can be transmitted via
TCP/IP,RS232,RS485andUSBclientorbyusingaUSBflashdrive.
Step5:Modify users'informationinthe AttendanceManagement,and
upload this newly information to the device after connected. Then the
users' newly information will be displayed on the screen upon
attendance. (Some models allow directly name edition and other
operationonthedevice.Therefore,itisnonecessarytoconnectdevice.)
Step6:Verifythedevicedisplaysthecorrectdayandtime.Thenstartto
attendance.
Step 7: Download attendance records to the Attendance Management
andstatthemattheendofthemonth.

1.3Aboutattendance
Whenthedeviceisoninitialinterface,onlyaftersuccessfulfingerprint
orpasswordverification,canusersaveattendancerecordonthedevice.
InitialInterface
Asshownbelow:
The picture displayed on initial interface can be picture uploaded by

user (refer to upload userdefined picture of 6.2 Upload data). It can
alsobetimedisplay (referto 4.5Interfaceoption).
Selectattendancestate
l Mode1
Whenthedeviceisoninitialinterface,pressstatuskeyonthedeviceto
modifyattendancestate,andthestateinformationwillbedisplayedon
thescreen.Thecurrentselectedstateisdisplayedinorange.PressESC,
thepromptinformationwilldisappear.Referto 4.4Keyboarddefinition
fordefaultstatekeydefinition.

l Mode2
Variousstatescanbesetbyuser.Therefore,notallstateinformationis
displayed upon key press. Corresponding states come out on the left
bottomcorner.
IdentityVerification
After successful attendance record, the device will display the current
timeonthescreeninclockmode.
l FingerprintMatching
1.1:Nfingerprintmatching
Verify the fingerprint pressed on the sensor at present with all
fingerprintdatainthefingerprintreader.
Step1:Pressfingerprintproperlyonthesensoron initialinterface.
Step2:Ifthedevicesays"Thankyou",theverificationiscomplete.

If the device says "Please press again", return Step 1 for second
operation.
2.1:1fingerprintmatch (UserID+fingerprint)
Verify the fingerprint pressed on the sensor at present with the
fingerprintrelatedwithusernumber.Usethismethodwhenitisdifficult
toidentifyuser'sfingerprint.
Step1:InputUserIDofemployeetobeverifiedon initialinterface.

Step2:Pressfingerprintproperlyonthesensor.
If the device says "Please press again", return Step 2 for second
operation.

Employeecantryanother2timesbydefault.Therepeatedtimescanbe
set in 4.5 interface option. If it fails after 2 times, return Step 1 for
secondoperation.
l PasswordMatching
Step 1: Input User ID of employee to be verified on initial interface.
ThenpressOK.
Step2:Ifitsaysthattheenrollnumberiswrong,itmeansthatthereis
nosuchnumberortheemployeedoesn'tenrollpassword.
Step3:Inputpasswordwhentheinterfaceappears.

Whenthedevicesays"passworderror",pleaseinputpasswordagain.

Employeecantryanother2timesbydefault.Therepeatedtimescanbe
set in 4.5 interface option. If it fails after 2 times, return Step 1 for
secondoperation.
l CardMatching
Step1:Wavethecardneartheinductionareaoninitialinterface,after
theinductionequipmentfindthecard,removethecard.
Step2:Whentheequipmentgivesthetip"Thankyou",thecertification
completed.
Step 3: If the card has not registered yet, prompt "that card is not
registered".

JNotice: The card area in some devices is round the fingerprint

sensorandothersareroundthekeyboard.
1.4ConnectionwithPC
Thedeviceonlyrecordsattendancetime.Thestatementcanbedisposed
bysoftwareonPC.Therefore,itisnecessaryfordevicetoconnectPCto
downloadattendancerecordtoattendancesoftware.
Thefollowingaresomeconnectionmethods:
l Ethernet
Throughhub:Useparallelnetcable(toconnectnetworkcardand
hub)toconnectdeviceintothenetwork.
Direct connection: use cross net cable (connect two Ethernet
terminalsdirectly)toconnectdeviceandPC.
Setdevice:
EnterMenu>Communicationoption>Networktosetthe following
items:
IP address: Default IP as 192.168.1.201. You can modify it if it is

necessary.
Subnetmask:Defaultsubnetmaskas255.255.255.0.Youcanmodifyit
ifitisnecessary.
Gatewayaddress:Defaultgatewayaddress0.0.0.0.Youcanmodifyitif
itisnecessary.
Networkspeed:Therearethreeoptions:ATUO,10M,and100M.
Connection password: Set it in "Menu>Communication
option>Security". It can be set or not set. If it is set, input
correspondingnumericalvalueonconnectioninterfaceofPCsoftware.
l RS232(UseRS232serialportwireforconnection.)
Setdevice:
EnterMenu>Communicationoption tosetthefollowingoptions:
Baud rate: Set it in "RS232/485". Communication speed rate (with
computer),ifthecommunicationspeedishigh,RS232(115200,57600)
isrecommended.

1.5Mainmenu
Start at the Check/ClockIn screen. Press the Menu key long time to
open theMainMenu,asshowninthefollowingfigure:
Usermanagement:Browsetheusers'basicinformationlikeID,name,
fingerprint, card, password and privilege and so on Increase, edit or
delete operation the basic information Set the work code for user and

cardmanagement.
Connection:Setupcommunicationparametersbetweentheequipment
and the PC, including IP address, gateway, subnet mask, baud rate,
devicenumber,communicationspasswordetc.
System:Managethedataandsetthesystemparameters,includingbasic
parameters,interfaceparameters,fingerprintandattendanceparameters,
tomaximizemeetuser'sneedsinthefunctional,displayandotherareas.
Date/Time:Devicetimedateshouldsetaccuratetoensuretheaccurate
attendancetime.
PenDrive: By USB, the user info and attendance data etc. can be
imported to the accordingly software to deal or import the user
informationforotherfingerprintdevicestouse.
Auto Test: automatically test the function of each module if it is
workable,includingthescreen,sensor,voice,keyboardandclocktests.
Record: For query the record saved in the device convenience, query
record functionisprovided.
Sys Info: Usesystem informationto check the current device's saving
status,itsversioninformationandsoon.

2.Usermanagement
The user's basic information on the device includes fingerprint,

password and management access. In company's attendance
management,foremployee'schange,theinformationonthedevicealso
needsmodification.Therefore,operationsincluding"add,delete,check,
modifyandsoon"canbedoneonthedevice.
2.1Adduser
Firstly,enrollemployee'sfingerprintorpasswordinthedevice.
Enter"Newuser"interface:

JNotice: The name, card and printing function are nonstandard

featuresandonlysomedevicesareconfigured.
ID.NO:Staff'sattendancenumber.
Name:Inputuser'snamewithT9inputmethod.
FP(Fingerprint):enrollemployee'sfingerprint.Ten fingerprintscanbe
enrolled at most. The employee with fingerprint enrolled can use
fingerprinttorecordattendance.
PWD (Enroll password): enroll user's password. The effective digit is
1~8.Theemployeewithpasswordenrolledcanusepasswordtorecord
attendance.
Card: Registered staff's Card, only the registered card is possible to
checkattendance.
Purview:Usersarepeoplewhoseidentitymustbeauthenticatedbefore
enter a menu. The ordinary consumer can track attendance by the
fingerprint, the password or the card only the manager already may
equally carry on the daily checking attendance with the ordinary
consumer,butmayenterthemenutooperateeachoption(Whenthereis
noappointedthemanager,anypersonallmayentrythemenuoperation
afterthemanagerisappointed,anyoneisunabletoentrythemenuuntil

themanagerstatusisconfirmed,afterthesuccesscanentrythemenu.).
Print:Setwhethertoprintaftermatchingissuccessful.Ifitissetas
Yes, the device automatically prints attendance records after matching
success.If itissetasNO,noprintingisperformed.
Forexample:thefollowingistheflowforAdduser.
l InputUserID
1. AllocateUserIDbydefault.
2. Press to delete the allocated User ID by default. Input User ID
fromkeyboard.IftheUserIDiswrong,press toinputitagain.
l Inputname
UseT9inputtoinputemployee'sname,referto10.7T9inputmethod.
PressOKor/toselect"Enrollfingerprint",thenpressOKtostart
fingerprint.
l Enrollfingerprint
Pressfingeraccordingtodevice'sprompt.Pressthefingerthreetimesin
theproperway.
Ifonefingerprintisenrolledsuccessfully,pressOKtocontinueanother
finger,thenpressMenu and ESCtoreturnthelastinterface.
Press / to select "Enroll password" and press OK to enroll
password.

l Enrollpassword
Input password (1~8) according to device's prompt, and press OK to

verifyit.ThenpressOKsaveitorpressESCtoexitwithoutsavingit.
After saving, display will be on the device, which means the
passwordhasbeenset.
l Enrollcard
Scroll/keystolocatethecursoron"Enrollcard"button,andpress
OKtoentertheregistrationcard
Slightwarethecardneartheinductionarea,aftertheequipmentfound
the card number, press OK key to save, press to ESC give up, then
removethecardfromtheequipment,afterthe"Enrollsuccessfully"the

cardnumberwilldisplayontheregisterbutton.
l Privilegesetting
Scrollthe/keyandlocalcursoronthePrivilegesettingbox,scroll
/ keytochooseprivilege.
l Printsetting
Press /, locate the cursor to Print, and press / to determine
whethertoprintattendancerecords.
Save/exituserregistration
To confirm the registration information is correct, after getting
confirmation,saveit.
Thewayforsaving:
1. Scroll /key to locate cursor on the "OK (M/<)"button, please
press OK key again, If the prompt, "Save successfully! Continues to
input?" appear on equipment, want continuing to press OK, if you
abandonthisoperation,pressESCkey.
2. Press the ESC key or scroll /key to locate the cursor on the
"Back(ESC)"button, pleasepressOK keyagain,theprompt"the data
hasbeenchanged,Areyousuretosaveit?"appearonequipment,press
OK key to save and return to the preceding of menus, does not serve
andreturnto theprecedingofmenus,pressESCkey.
2.2Manageuser
All users information saved in the current device can be queried in

manage user, includinguser name, fingerprint count, whether to enroll
passwordorcard,userattendancerecordandsoon.Editingordeleting
usercanalsobedonehere.

JNotice:
(1) Means this employee is the administrator. Means password
hasbeenenrolled. MeansIDcardhasbeenenrolled.
(2) The picture may be different from your device. The real product
prevails.
Press Menu on the above interface, and the operating menu will pop
out:

2.2.1Searchuser
If many users are enrolled, in order to find an employee quickly, the

devicehasprovided "UserID"tosearchtheemployee.
Press Menu on Manage user interface to get operating menu. Select
"Searchuser"orpressanynumerickeytoenterthefollowingpage:
Input User ID of employee to be queried. Press OK, after successful

query, the blue cursor will point to the employee. If there is no such
employee,"Noenrolleddata"willappear.
2.2.2Queryattendancerecord
When administrator is checking employee's fingerprint and other

enrolled information, he can also check the employee's attendance
recordduringthatmonth.
PressMenuonManageuserinterfacetogettheoperatingmenu,select
"Record", and the employee's monthly attendance record can be
checked:

2.2.3Edituser
Edit user information saved in the device. For example, the former
enrolled fingerprints are unusable, enter "Edit user" to reenroll

fingerprint,passwordorcard.
Use/orQueryuseronManageuserinterfacetoselectemployee
to be edited. Then press Menu to select "Edit" or press shortcut to
verifyit,andallenrolledinformationcanbedisplayedonthedevice:
JNotice:Onlysomemodelshavenameandcardoptions.
UserIDcannotbemodified.Theoperationissimilartothatofadduser.
Fingerprint can be reenrolled. Click "enroll password" directly to set
passwordormodifypassword.Theaccesscanalsobemodified.
Saveedition/exitedition
PressMenuor/toselectOK (M/<),pressOK,saveeditionand
returntomanageuserinterface.
PressESC or/toselectBack(ESC)andthen pressOK,andthe
device will prompt "data has been changed. Are you sure to save?" If
youwanttosaveit,pressOKandreturntothelastmenu.OrpressESC
toreturnthelastmenu.

2.2.4Deleteuser
"Deluser"istodeleteemployee'spartialinformationorallinformation
fromthedevice.Itisusedwhenthefollowingstateshappen:
1. Whenemployee'sfingerprintorpasswordisnotneededanymore.
2. Whenemployeeleavestheposition.
Press/onManageuserinterfaceor useQueryusertoselectthe
employee to be edited. Click Menu to get operating menu, and then
select"Deleteuser".
Deleteuser
JNotice:OnlysomemodelshaveDelIDCardOnlyoptions.
Iftheuserhasnofingerprintorpassword,thecorrespondingitemisblue
and cannot be operated. Press / to select the item to be operated.
PressOKtopopoutdialogboxandverifywhethertodeletethisitemor
not. Then the device will give corresponding prompt. Press ESC to
returnto Manageuserpage.

2.3Workcode
Salaryisbasedonattendance.Therearemanyworktypesforemployees.
An employee may have different work type in different time period.
Different work types have different pays. Therefore, in order to
distinguish different attendance states when user is dealing with
attendance data, the device has provided a parameter to mark which
attendancerecordbelongstowhichworktype.
Operation:

Support Mifare nontouch intelligent card with working frequency of

13.56MHZ. Integrate fingerprint attendance to other systems and
support multiverification mode to meet the demands of different
people.

Sway the card in the induction area. After the device inducts the card,
move the card off. When the verification is successful, the device will
giveprompt.
KTips: Please enter user access control option to modify the

verificationmodeasRF,orverificationwon'tbesuccessful.
2.4.2Enrollfingerprintcard
Enrollfingerprintandwritefingerprintintocard.
@Note: only Finger VX9.0 of device can support this function.

Step3:Pressfingerproperlythreetimes.
Step4:Deviceprompts"Pleaseshowcard".

Step5:Putthecardintheinductionarea,waitingforthedevicetoread
fingerprintdataintocarduntiltheenrollmentsucceeds.
2.Verification

The system default the new enrolled user as the first group, default

Time zone is the minimum unit of access control option. The whole
system can define 50 time zones. Every time zone defines seven time

within 24 hours everyday. Every user can set 3 time zones, "or" exists
amongthethreezones.Itiseffectiveifonlyoneissatisfied.Everytime
sectionformatisHH:MMHH:MM,namely,accuratetominute.
If end time is smaller than start time(23:57 23:56), the whole day is
forbidden. If end time is bigger than start time (00:00 23:59), it is
effectivesection.
Effective time zone for user unlocking: 00:0023:59 or the time zone
whenendtimeisbiggerthanstarttime.

Sometimes, some illegal person follows the employee into the gate,
whichwillbringsecurityproblem.Topreventsuchrisk,thisfunctionis

This function needs two machines to work together. One is installed
inside the door (master machine hereinafter), the other is installed
outside the door (slave machine hereinafter). Same Wigand signal
communication is adopted between the two machines. Same user and

10.5WorkStateAutoSwitch
The system supports six work states: Check in, Check out, Break out,
Break in, Overtime in, and Overtime out. The workstate needs to be
modifiedmanually,thatis,youcanswitchtothedesiredworkstateby
pressing the corresponding button. To decrease the manual operations,
thedevicemenuprovidesaworkstateAutoSwitchoption.Atthetime
specifiedbyauser,thedeviceautomaticallyswitchestheworkstate.The
currentworkstate isdisplayedontheinitialinterface.
After the user sets the workstate Auto Switch in a week, the system
checks whether the workstate needs to be switched by minutes. When
theusersavesthesettings,thesavingoperationofthesamedayorsame

In many factories, ringing apply to broadcast message to inform

employeetheirdutyareonoroff,andthetraditionalwayistoringbell
bymanualorspecialelectronmachine.Wehavealreadyembeddedthe
time ring module into the fingerprint T&A system, you may benefit
from the low cost and convenience management. There are more two
options that is Bell schedule and Bell duration in the device bell ring
providewith.ThesystemtotalhaseightBellscheduletoset,according
to actual need you may set time bell, when the time arrive at the
appointed time, the device will automatically ring bell, the duration of
ringingachieveassignedhour,theringingwillstopautomatically.
Therearetwotoringbell:

2.Connecttheelectricalbelltothedevice,whenarrivetheappointtime,
thefingerprintmachinewillsendsignaltotriggerrelay.
10.7 T9inputmethod
ThenameofT9inputmethodisthesmartinputmethoditisfamousfor
highlyeffectiveandquicklyinputtingthecharacter,thisequipmentfully
supports the T9 Chinese, the T9 English, and the symbol input. There
are three or four English letters on 0~9 numeric keyboards of the
machine,forexamplethenumerickeyboard1hastheA,B,theCthree
letters,onlyinputkeywherethisletterlocatefortheT9Chinese,Press
thealgorithmoftheprogramwillautomaticallycombinethelegitimate
Pinyin. Then press the numeric key to choose Pinyin for inputting the
Chinese character. The T9 English also comply with the letter

after access to network. Once the master unit has updated it will

Dynamic Master Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a standardized

protocol that enables clients to be dynamically assigned with various
configuration parameters, such as an IP address, subnet mask, default
