THE TURN-OVER OF DUTIES, EMERGENCY SITUATION,

FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES BY KAGOSIMA

SENPAKU KAISHA PROCEDURES.

The turn over duties and responsibilities by the relieved


disembarking crew to the newly embarked crew is a normal routine work.
However, it has been noted that sometimes the newly embarked crew is not
well familiar of the work he assumed, due to improper or incomplete transfer
of duties, responsibilities and accountabilities

The newly embarked reliever crew shall ensure that all duties,
responsibilities and accountabilities are properly handed over to him from
the relieved disembarking crew by observing the hereunder procedures.

A) The newly embarked crew shall report to the master immediately


upon embarkation.

B) The reliever shall see to it that the disembarking crew granted upon
permission of the Captain to effect the turn over.

C) The disembarking relieved crew shall turn-over all his accountabilities,


duties and responsibilities including his emergency station and
functions in his reliever in return.

D) The reliever crew shall ensure that he understand and received all
property, accountabilities, duties and responsibilities including the
emergency functions in his position and signed the turn over notes.

E) The reliever shall ensure himself that he understood his position and
functions in emergency cases.

F) The reliever and the relieved disembarking crew shall together report
to the Master that the turn-over was completely carried out.

G) The turn-over record shall be confirmed and signed by the Master for
the deck department crew and by the Chief Engineer for the engine
department crew.

All crew are enjoined to observed these procedures and extend their
cooperation with each other including the Master to ensure efficient
administration and operation towards safety of the ship.

Responsibilities
These forewords are basic guide for the new incoming
Third Assistant Engineer regarding to his duties and responsibilities
for his routine works and maintenances. This note had been
explained properly to the incoming Third Assistant Engineer to
conduct himself the proper maintenance and operation of
machineries under his care.
