This advertisement is in continuation of our advertisement published in the “Employment News” dated 27/12/2008 to 02/01/2009 for the
selection of candidates for admission to the Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Post Graduates (OCES 2009)
programme of the BARC Training Schools at:
Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai
Nuclear Training Centres, Kaiga, Kalpakkam, Kudankulam, Rawatbhata and Tarapur
Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam
Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology, Indore

This is to announce that an All India written test will be held to screen candidates for interview for admission to OCES-20009 in
seven engineering disciplines: Mechanical, Chemical, Metallurgical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science and
Instrumentation on May 24, 2009 (Sunday) in following 21 cities:
Ahmedabad, Gujarat (01), Bangalore, Karnataka (02), Bhubaneshwar, Orissa (03), Chandigarh, UT (04), Chennai, TN (05), Coimbatore, TN
(06), New Delhi, NCR (07), Guwahati, Assam (08), Hyderabad, AP (09), Indore, MP (10), Jaipur, Rajasthan (11), Kolkata, WB (12),
Lucknow, UP (13), Mumbai, Maharashtra (14), Nagpur, Maharashtra (15), Roorkee, Uttarakhand (16), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala (17),
Varanasi, UP (18), Jamshedpur, Jharkhand (19), Raipur, Chhatisgarh (20), Shillong, Meghalaya (21). Number in brackets indicate city code.
You may apply for the Written Test if you do not possess valid GATE score or if your valid GATE score is below the cut-off given on our
website named below. The applicants whose valid GATE score is equal to or above the said cut-off should not apply for the
Written Test. The Written Test would be objective type and purely discipline specific.

Those who complete the training programme successfully are appointed as Scientific Officer in any of the DAE units with opportunities for
attractive career in wide ranging areas of Research and Development in frontline science and technology as well as in Operation and
Maintenance of nuclear reactors and related facilities.
The Training Schools at different locations conduct academic and training courses with emphasis on different aspects of the programme of
DAE, details of which may be found on the website for online applications. This website also provides links to the websites of various DAE
units highlighting their activities.
DAE has the mandate to develop and deploy nuclear energy in all its beneficial aspects. To achieve this objective, the graduates from the
BARC Training Schools may be placed in any of the following DAE units:
Bhabha Atomic Research Centre; Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research; Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology;
Nuclear Fuel Complex; Heavy Water Board; Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre; Board of Radiation and Isotope Technology;
Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd.
While all other units mentioned above are Central Government organizations, Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. (NPCIL) is a
Corporation. It is a world class nuclear giant engaged in the design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of
nuclear power plants. With its Head Quarters in Mumbai, NPCIL has Power Plants and Projects located in various parts of the
country as detailed below:
Tarapur Maharashtra Site, Maharashtra; Rawatbhata Rajasthan Site, Rajasthan; Kaiga Site, Karnataka; Madras Atomic Power Station,
Tamil Nadu; Narora Atomic Power Station, U.P.; Kakrapar Atomic Power Station, Gujarat; Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project, Tamil Nadu
