sports Grand Marshal – Jesse sapolu
Hawaii sports Hall of Fame and Cybermuseum pioneer Jesse Sapolu excelled as standout player
on the offensve line at the U of Hawaii from 1979-82. In 1983, Sapolu played in the Hula Bowl and
went on to be drafted into the NFL by the San Francisco 49ers. During his 12-year career with the
49ers he played on 4 Super Bowl Championship teams and two pro bowls. Played both center and
offensive guard and spent his entire career in a San Francisco 49ers uniform. Sapolu is one of six 49ers
to own four Super Bowl Championsip Rings, 1984, 88, 89 and 94. He earned Pro Bowl honors in 1993
and 1994.
Since retiring in 1997, Sapolu has lived in Huntington Beach and remains active in the
