Description of the artifact and how it meets the standard and criteria:

This artifact is the PBIS Monday Meeting lesson plan handbook for Anderson
Elementary. We have meetings with our students on Monday afternoons to remind them
how to be Bondurants BEST and keep them safe in and out of school. This handbook
has helped me to create an environment in my classroom of mutual respect, rapport
and fairness. We talk about many different topics throughout our Monday Meetings and
this time give my students an opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas in a safe
environment. Everyone that wants to gets a chance to share their thinking in a
judgement free zone.

Reflection on the artifact:

I have found Monday Meetings to be very useful in my classroom. We are able to set
aside time to talk about topics that might not otherwise be discussed in the classroom
setting. It also helps to build our classroom community because students are allowed to
talk about their thoughts and feelings without anyone judging them. We talk about how
we respond when we agree with ideas, and how we respond respectfully when we
disagree with some ideas that are shared. This is a routine that I think my students
really benefit from and I think it helps them grow as a person as well.
