Dear Sir,

Traffic Congestion in Taman Ceria

There is a serious problem of traffic congestion in my residential area, Taman Ceria. On behalf of the
residents, I am bringing your attention to this problem with the hope for immediate attention.

2. We, as the residents, have been putting up with this unbearable situation for the past ten months.
The traffic situation is bad during peak hours in the morning and evening. During these busy hours, the
road becomes really choked with vehicles as everyone leaves to work and returns home. Besides, the
number of cars using the roads has increased ten-fold as everyone now affords to own a car for their
convenience. However, to make the situation worse, the roads remain narrow with only two lanes as no
effort is taken by the responsible authority to make the roads broader.

3. Moreover, the traffic situation is aggravated by a new housing project nearby. Every day, many lorries
and cement trucks use the roads to transport building materials to the construction site. Besides slowing
down the traffic, these vehicles have initiated several other problems on the road. This is because the
heavy vehicles have caused many potholes on roads which actually pose danger to the road users.

4. The next problem is queue on road. There is always a dangerous queue on one of the roads due to the
reduction of lanes. This in turn disturbs the flow of traffic and causes distress to the road users. In
addition, due to the traffic congestion, fifteen accidents have occurred in the past six months. This is an
alarming figure.

5. We have requested the housing project developer to build their own access roads for their heavy
vehicles. However, our petitions have fallen on deaf ears. Their heavy lorries continue to use the public
roads on a daily basis.

We hope the Subang Jaya Town Council will look into our complaints and take prompt action to solve
our problems.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

(Jane Ong)
