August 13th, 2010 | 4:21 pm | #1 I would have published that list without the Hon. before the name. Hon. Neil Abercrombie (HI-01) The Hon. Neil Abercrombie is part of the eligibility coverup. Newer Comments »

August 13th, 2010 | 4:22 pm | #2 Print this list out so we know where to start to clean up this government. Glad to actually see it in black and white (no pun intended) Now let’s get busy, FIRED UP AND READY TO GO.

August 13th, 2010 | 4:30 pm | #4 Well, two thoughts. No surprise…… but holy shiite batman that list needs to be everywhere. Maybe the public would re elect anyway but my guess is this could certainly rattle a few mid terms.

August 13th, 2010 | 4:37 pm | #10 What? How dare you accuse the Democraps (or the left in general) of being socialists, Marxists and communists. You guys have been watching too much Glenn Beck. This is one of the main reasons I left the Left. We were never honest about who we were and what we believed. That’s because we wanted to dupe average Joe’s in the Democrap Party to vote for us. I have no problem as a Republican and a Conservative to admit that I’m a proud Capitalist. It’s time for the left to admit that they’re Marxists. Let the voters decide if that’s okay or not. Stop lying about what you really believe.

August 13th, 2010 | 4:47 pm | #11 Only 10?

August 13th, 2010 | 4:49 pm | #12 Maurice Hinchey (NY-22 and I never thought in my life I would know what my congressional district was) is up for reelection this year. Some guy named George Philips I think is running against him. I tried twice to volunteer to do anything to help. Apparently they’re waiting until the last moment to spring the campaign on us. We need better candidates. We need us.

August 13th, 2010 | 4:52 pm | #13 Clean house people, it is up to us to rid this scurge from the congress. Now is not the time to sleep but get out there and vote the commies out

August 13th, 2010 | 5:08 pm | #18 Me August 13th, 2010 | 4:53 pm | #14 Hey Marsh, go stick your head back in the sand. I think that was sardonically satirical sarcasm…

August 13th, 2010 | 5:08 pm | #19 So Maxine Waters wasn’t kidding last year when she threatened to nationalize the oil companies (even though she seemed to draw a blank on the word “nationalize”). Marsh: Well said. Welcome aboard. (Speaking as an ex-leftist myself.)

August 13th, 2010 | 5:10 pm | #20 My guess is that this list will hit Big Government, etc. very quickly… I also suppose Obama WAS on the list, but is no longer a voting member fo the caucus. Since he liked communicating directly with Yuri Andropov, my guess is that the less-than-honorable Ted Kennedy also belonged.

August 13th, 2010 | 5:12 pm | #21 THere is no “Hon.” It is “Commy”

August 13th, 2010 | 5:18 pm | #22 looks like who’s who in the black caucus, californians, and northeasterners!!! I wouldn’t stop at calling them socialists, they’re marxists of various genres.

August 13th, 2010 | 5:23 pm | #23 ma has 10 congresscitters of which 6 are on the list.

August 13th, 2010 | 5:26 pm | #24 Will the GOP be too stupid or complicit (honor among the thieving class, you know) to use this info — and not just the names but the agenda — in their campaign ads? You betcha!

August 13th, 2010 | 5:32 pm | #25 We now have a list. We can call it an Enemies List because they are enemies of freedom, truth and what used to be known as the “American Way”. We can call it a Hit List because these are the people we need to get rid of (with our votes, of course). I do wonder why the stinking cockroaches are finally coming out in the daylight. What kind of fraud and deception are they planning for their September/October surprise.

August 13th, 2010 | 5:34 pm | #26 My first thought ran along the lines of JAWS. “We’re going to need a bigger boat.” I thought, “We’re going to need a lot more tar and feathers. Fred, get the truck.”

August 13th, 2010 | 5:45 pm | #27 Funny how many on that list have elicted a visceral hate reaction from me when I see them on TV.

August 13th, 2010 | 5:46 pm | #28 ‘I do wonder why the stinking cockroaches are finally coming out in the daylight.” just a tad detached from reality.

August 13th, 2010 | 6:50 pm | #45 I found this list about 3 months ago and wrote all 70 DSA members in congress. NOT one response except from Ed Pastor (D-4th/AZ) who answered back that he was not a socialist and they (DSA) took the names from the Progressive Caucus and it was in error! Didn’t seem too upset by it. Probably truely proud of his achievement! He sure looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck! Hmmm… Got vote these people OUT!!!

August 13th, 2010 | 6:54 pm | #46 Old Joe McCarthey isn’t just rolling over in his grave, I’ll bet he’s swapping ends in his casket. These socialist scum will pull this country to its knees if they aren’t dealt with by throwing them out and prosecuting them to the fullest extent of their crimes. The HUAC should be reformed and begin hearings immediately for these seventy and ferrett out the rest who may not be as open with whose side they’re on. What in God’s name has become of our country?

This list is missing some big names. Sen. Chris Dodd is a commie. He’s not on here. Why? There are surely others with big names missing. Perhaps only some of the folks on this list are legitimate socialist members, and the libs will “prove” that some aren’t, and therefore will attempt to have us throw out the whole list. So sorry libs. Your game is up.

I think someone big on our side (Rush, Sean, or Glenn) would have been all over it when it came out. I did a search, went to their website, and found nothing. I don’t want to be spreading this around and look like a “kook” if it’s not something that was actually published. Anyone have a link for something other than scribd.?

August 13th, 2010 | 7:38 pm | #57 Haywood comment #51…should have clicked your link before posting my question. It appears that the names came from that list. Of course we all know that progressive is code for socialist, but I doubt there was an actual list from the actual socialist party organization with these names on them.

Besides, Sean Hannity exposed far worse ties to Obama before the election, and the people who supported Obama didn’t care about them either.

August 13th, 2010 | 8:11 pm | #63 Is there anyone from the Congressional Black Caucus that is not on this list? I am reminded of the communist organization, ANSWER, an acronym for Act Now to Stop War and End Racism. August 13th, 2010 | 8:14 pm | #64 Interesting, but…look at history…Would you really trust a Socialist? I mean, a great way to get “men of good will” to fight among themselves would be to act as a “third party” and tell lies about one group or faction to another…Think about it. The Socialists modus operandus is “hidden control”. Why would they out their own covert operatives? Also how would 70 congressmen be

able to hide their involvement? Washington is a fishbowl…You can get any congressman’s schedule by looking on their website…I could put out a “newsletter” saying that goldfish are really mammals…does that make it true?? The Nazis burned down the Reichstag [German Parlaiment] and blamed it on the Communists. Senator “Tail Gunner” Joe McCarthy had his infamous “list” of “known Communists” and spread total slander, ruining hundreds of peoples’ careers and lives before Edward R. Murrow stopped him…Muslim extremists say the West is the Great Satan, etc etc…Some entity ‘publishes’ what they SAY is a fact – somebody gets hurt. Yes, you gotta watch everybody, but don’t LISTEN to them, do your research, REAL research…gh

August 13th, 2010 | 8:24 pm | #65 The scribd post looks like simply an edit of that ridiculous American Socialist Voter website. Why use such a curious method to post that link? Something is incredibly fishy. Perhaps the list was taken down from the original source, but a simple screenshot would have been a far more incriminating piece of evidence. Not to mention the fact that the American Socialist Voter website looks like it was very hastily produced. It’s a horrible blog template (with at least one section at the bottom still unfilled, with the default ‘insert photos here’ text still visible!) There may be validity to many of these claims, but I have some serious questions. If this post is bogus, the entire cause does itself a tremendous disservice by crying wolf at every dubious or manipulated sign of rampant socialism. To all the people who immediately ranted and raved in the comments section without, I imagine, even taking 5 minutes to verify these claims for yourselves…shame on you. If you’re not willing to look at everything with a critical eye, and think and research for yourself….If you choose instead to yell and scream and bang pots in the street, you’re part of the problem. You’re part of the great, unwashed mass of uneducated, ignorant pawns that are simply manipulated and taken advantage of by unscrupulous powers on BOTH sides of the aisle.

August 13th, 2010 | 11:29 pm | #85 The Democratic Socialists of America is a marxist party that was formed out of the old Democratic Socialists Organizing Committee of Michael

Harrington and some of the older Socialist Party of Norman Thomas. It is different than the pathetic remnants still called the “Socialist Party” and it is more marxist and more anti-American. The fact that is has so many members of Congress in it shows how far and deep marxism has gotten into the body politique. However, we must keep the two groups separate – DSA and SP, otherwise we will mislead readers as to who is really who.

August 14th, 2010 | 8:23 am | #109 ++ The DSA-Affiliated Congressional Socialist Caucus Re-Discovered [And, yes, there’s more. Taking another look or two at those FEC filings for the DSA PAC, we have a few more discoveries to report. 1. It is no secret that the DSA is the American member of the Socialist International. Now we can state that the DSA is a dues-paying member of the Socialist International, as revealed in the FEC records. For every year the PAC has reported to the FEC, it has made annual payments to SI. 2. In 2006 disbursements were made for one political campaign, that of Bernie Sanders/Sanders for Senate. In subsequent years, disbursements were made to Progressive Voters of America, which is Bernie Sanders’ PAC. 3. In October 2008, a total disbursement, year to date, of $3,549.37, was made to John S. McCain. There is no further notation as to why the DSA PAC was making donations of any sort to the Republican presidential candidate. 4. Finally, on November 11, 2008, a week after the presidential election, DSA PAC paid $532.48 to Cambridge Offset Printing for a postal mailing in Massachusetts in support of Barack Obama. This amount was included in the $2,432.48 year to date amount DSA PAC expended for the Barack Obama campaign. As much as all these individuals would like us to not notice, the facts speak for themselves. They are socialists, supporting socialists. It’s plain and simple.] McCain questions: 1) did he know about it?? if so.. 2) did he keep it or return it?? ==

August 14th, 2010 | 11:18 am | #130 “I saw that the New Deal was only superficially a reform movement. I had to acknowledge the truth of what its more forthright protagonists, sometimes unwarily, sometimes defiantly, averred: the New Deal was a genuine revolution, whose deepest purpose was not simply reform within existing traditions, but a basic change in the social, and, above all, the power relationships within the nation. It was not a revolution by violence. It was a revolution by bookkeeping and lawmaking. In so far as it was successful, the power of politics had replaced the power of business. This is the basic power shift of all the revolutions of our time. This shift _was_ the revolution. It was only of incidental interest that the revolution was incomplete, that it was

made not by tanks and machine guns, but by acts of Congress and decisions of the Supreme Court, or that many of the revolutionists did not know what they were or denied it. But revolution is always an affair of force, whatever the force disguises itself in. Whether the revolutionists prefer to call themselves Fabians, who seek power by the inevitability of gradualism, or Bolsheviks, who seek power by the dictatorship of the proletariat, the struggle is for power. Now I thought that I understood much better something that in the past had vaguely nibbled at my mind, but never nibbled to a conclusion — namely, how it happened that so many concealed Communists were clustered in Government, and how it was possible for them to operate so freely with so little fear of detection. For as between revolutionists who only half know what they are doing and revolutionists who know exactly what they are doing the latter are in a superb maneuvering position. At the basic point of the revolution — the shift of power from business to government — the two kinds of revolutionists were at one; and they shared many other views and hopes. Thus men who sincerely abhorred the word Communism, in the pursuit of common ends found that they were unable to distinguish Communists from themselves, except that it was the Communists who were likely to be most forthright and most dedicated in the common cause. For men who could not see that what they firmly believed was liberalism added up to socialism could scarcely be expected to see what added up to Communism. Any charge of Communism enraged them precisely because they could not grasp the differences between themselves and those against whom it was made.” – Whittaker Chambers, “Witess”

August 14th, 2010 | 12:07 pm | #134 Thanks, for a view of the propaganda against most of the prominent Democrats and Independents in congress. First of all the symbol of the Democratic Socialists of America is a rose above two clasped hands not the Russian Communist party hammer and sickle. To equate socialism with communism is really slander. We all share the cost of the police department – socialism. We all share the cost of the fire department – socialism.

We all contribute to educate those who cannot afford a private education – socialism. We all pay for the paving of public roads – socialism. I collect my Social Security payments which I paid into for 22 years – socialism. I use Medicare which I pay into every month and did while I was working after it was instituted – socialism. Unfortunately, I also pay for the cost of wars in the middle east which benefit large international corporations who avoid the taxes that fund those wars. Capitalism at its worst.

August 14th, 2010 | 1:58 pm | #150 You can find an updated list with 82 names openly published on an official .gov House of Representatives web site. These members of Congress are part of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. ContentID=166&ParentID=0&SectionID=4&SectionTree=4&lnk=b&ItemID=164 The Congressional Progressive Caucus worked openly with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) until 1999. The DSA openly admits its relation with the Congressional Progressive Caucus. According to a frequently-asked questions (FAQ) document, the DSA explains that it is not in competition with the Democratic Party. “Like our friends and allies in the feminist, labor, civil rights, religious, and community organizing movements, many of us have been active in the Democratic Party. We work with those movements to strengthen the party’s left wing, represented by the Congressional Progressive Caucus.” (page 3) There is additional information about the Congressional Progressive Caucus available here, with links to associated organizations. Other similar groups also work within the Democratic Party. One such organization is the Progressive Democrats of America. Others include Progressive Voters of America and Progressive Democrats of America.

August 14th, 2010 | 2:25 pm | #152 This is a forgery. First, the Socialist Party of America has been defunct since 1972 (look on Wikipedia). Secondly, if you actually go to the website that this is supposedly printed off of (, the roster it cites is non-existent. In fact, it looks like the roster is just cut and paste from, which in itself is just a copy an paste from the congressional progressive caucus ( ContentID=166&ParentID=0&SectionID=4&SectionTree=4&lnk=b&ItemID=164). I somewhat doubt that the democratic socialists of America would be copying information from, which is a site that’s clearly against socialism….

I agree that the list of Congressmen/woman that are supposedly members of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA)–not the Socialist Party of America)–relies on a cached web image of questionable origin. The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) really does still exists today. You can find an updated list with 82 names, openly published on an official .gov House of Representatives web site. August 14th, 2010 | 3:10 pm | #158 #152, David is right. It looks like someone took part of the information posted here, ,

where the assertion is made that the Democratic Progressive Caucus is in fact the DSA, and it is inserted into the DSA page, here: just below the incomplete member demographics. Unless someone comes up with a DIRECT LINK on the DSA site, what we have here is the membership of the Democratic Progressive Caucus, ContentID=166&ParentID=0&SectionID=4&SectionTree=4&lnk=b&ItemID=164 , photoshopped into the DSA page. We all know they are socialists, but as of now, this isn’t proof they are actually card carrying members of the DSA.

August 14th, 2010 | 3:43 pm | #165 This is old news. It’s been known for years that many Democratic Congressmen are cardcarrying members of the Democratic Socialists of America, front group of the World Socialist Workers’ Party. Corrine Brown in particular has a lock on her district because our Jacksonville, FL ‘Times-Union’ continually refuses to expose her unapologetic socialist, anti-business, racemongering and corrupt practices and beliefs. No one cared then. Now we’re paying the price. This is an infection which needs to be drained from our country.

August 14th, 2010 | 3:56 pm | #166 @Hayward – Indeed, it’s not secret. I’ve been spreading this list around for about one year. They updated it 6-2-10.

August 14th, 2010 | 4:19 pm | #167 Ms Durand (#134), your “insights” are simply wrong. The interstate highway system isn’t a sign of Socialism any more than the existence of the military that you and your fellow travelers loathe so deeply. As for the comparison of Socialism to Communism being slanderous, you’re either ignorant or you’re intentionally trying to draw a distinction where none exists; either way, you’re dead wrong. Karl Marx was explicit in calling Socialism the pathway to his (ultimately impossible) dream of pure Communism. They aren’t the same thing *only* in the sense that one, by design, is supposed to lead directly to the other. As for the police and the highways and the trash, sharing the cost of any public service through taxation isn’t Socialism; it’s sharing the cost of a public service when that public service can’t be delivered profitably by business. The overwhelming majority of goods and services delivered in our economy are still delivered by private businesses, not government; that’s not how things work in a Socialist economy. It’s been tried on every continent for nearly 100 years, and you and your comrades persist in the delusion that it can be made to work with just a little tweaking. You’re entitled to your fantasies, I suppose, but I’m sorry – you’re not entitled to ignore a century of failed history. Socialism, BY DESIGN, calls for the subjugation of individual rights in favor

of the collective, which usually means the few party elite on the balcony instead of the unwashed masses in the street. BY DESIGN, it must be imposed on a population and maintained by force because naturally free people will resist it. If you don’t like that characterization, then join a different party – because that’s the party you’re defending here.

August 14th, 2010 | 4:33 pm | #169 Tad shocking at first glance-but not so surprising. NOrman Thomas the former perennial candidate of the Socialist Party said something like “I have no more reason to run; the Democratic Party has accomplished all I ever hoped to accomplish.” Unfortunately the Republican establishment at times doesn’t seem far behind them. Probably most Democratic Senators and Congressmen and the President himself could qualify for membership if not actually being a member.

August 14th, 2010 | 5:47 pm | #172 My Congressman, Sam Farr, is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. His major campaign contributors are out-of-state political action committees (PACs) funded primarily by public-employee unions, labor unions, or affiliated groups. They represent special interests and do not represent the views of his Congressional district. This money allows distortions of democracy at the ballot box. Let’s see if this same pattern holds for the other members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. It could be that belonging to the Congressional Progressive Caucus provides an easy conduit to union money and some of these Congressmen/women are smart enough to know how to game the system. Using information from the Center for Responsive Politics (, I’ve separated the members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus into four groups. August 14th, 2010 | 6:10 pm | #174 ++ Soquel by the Creek thanks for all the info.. Tom @ 4:19 pm #167 Kudos.. murder by Utopianism by any other name [But communists could not be wrong. After all, their knowledge was scientific, based on historical materialism, an understanding of the dialectical process in nature and human society, and a materialist (and thus realistic) view of nature. Marx has shown empirically where society has been and why, and he and his interpreters proved that it was destined for a communist end. No one could prevent this, but only stand in the way and delay it at the cost of more human misery. Those who disagreed with this world view and even with some of the proper interpretations of Marx and Lenin were, without a scintilla of doubt, wrong. After all, did not Marx or Lenin or Stalin or Mao say that. . . . In other words, communism was like a fanatical religion. It had its revealed text and chief interpreters. It had its priests and their ritualistic prose with all the answers. It had a heaven, and the proper behavior to reach it. It had its appeal to faith. And it had its crusade against nonbelievers. What made this secular religion so utterly lethal was its seizure of all the state's instrument of force and coercion and their immediate use to destroy or control all independent sources of power, such as the church, the professions, private businesses, schools, and, of course, the family. [..] Communism has been the greatest social engineering experiment we have ever seen. It failed utterly and in doing so it killed over 100,000,000 men, women, and children, not to mention the near 30,000,000 of its subjects that died in its often aggressive wars and the rebellions it provoked. But there is a larger lesson to be learned from this horrendous sacrifice to one ideology. That is that no one can be trusted with power. The more power the center has to impose the beliefs of an ideological or religious elite or impose the whims of a dictator, the more likely human lives are to be sacrificed. This is but one reason, but perhaps the most important one, for fostering liberal democracy.] ==

This group in the House of Representatives calls itself the Progressive Caucus. Waxman, by the way, is the ranking member of the Government Oversight and Reform Committee. But that's just the beginning. There are seven ranking committee members in this group. The Democrats have put socialists in charge of their members on the Ways and Means Committee, the Banking and Small Business Committees, The Science Committee, the Veterans Committee, the Resources Committee and the Judiciary Committee. In fact, there are five members of the Progressive Caucus on the committee currently holding hearings on the Inquiry of Impeachment for Bill Clinton. There is nothing progressive about the Progressive Caucus. The Democratic Socialists of America is an affiliate of Socialist International, whose roots go all the way back to 1864. Don't be fooled by the use of the word "democratic." The group explains, "At the root of our socialism is a profound commitment to democracy, as means and end." Just ask Fox News. They went on record and admitted this. When the revolution comes…. imma flip your mini van over with a pack of strangers.

August 14th, 2010 | 11:40 pm | #189 This is ridiculous. There is no such group as the “Socialist Part of America”  today; it renamed itself “Social Democrats USA” in the early 1970s. It pursued a very hawkish foreign policy platform; among the institutions its members have supported are Freedom House and the National Endowment for Democracy. The “Democratic Socialists of America” was a group that left the Socialist Party about that time; they were more dovish. I attended some of their meetings while I was in college but never joined. But I did not meet a single Marxist there. First Things is better than this.

August 15th, 2010 | 1:33 am | #190 Is this actually a list of members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus? As others have pointed out, there hasn’t been a “Socialist Party of America”  since 1972. (Instead we have the Democratic Party, CP-USA, Socialist Party USA, etc.) The cited website is not an official organ of any party: It’s always a serious mistake to pass satire or nonsense as fact.

August 15th, 2010 | 4:16 am | #191 The symbol used in this posting is not the symbol of the Democratic Socialists of America. I think is horrible that you mislead readers like that. The full disclosure is at I suggest readers educate themselves before making judgements. The groups website is By the way, they do not consider Obama a socialist! We all need to educate ourselves when we read articles (from the left and the right) because there is so much mis-information out there. We need to make sure we understand what we are reading before we judge. This country is headed in the wrong direction with so much hatred that is based on lies!!

August 15th, 2010 | 5:03 am | #193 I beg to differ. What is misleading is the implication that there is any intrinsic difference between Communism and Socialism. They are the same basic ideology working under different time frames — i.e. Communist have repeatedly shown themselves willing to use force to facilitate immediate take over and Socialist go the slow, steady route of infiltration, manipulation & indoctrination. No apparent difference in end results — social oppression & economic stagnation.

August 15th, 2010 | 7:26 am | #198 For all the “why would they publish their names?” doubters out there, read the last couple of lines of Karl Marx’s “Communist Manifesto”. It Reads; ” The Communists disdain to conceal their views and aims. They openly declare that their ends can be attained only by the forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions. Let the ruling class tremble at a Communistic Revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win. WORKING MEN OF ALL COUNTRIES UNITE!” The Socialists feel they have all the power they need right now and are ready (and doing it, it may be argued) to openly seize power and reject the Constitution of the United States. Obama’s policies and disconnect with the sheep who voted for him is obvious to most everyone including the independants who voted for him and the inevitable cabinet of commies he would bring with him to the oval office. As to the “failure” of the government to contain the financial downfall of our

country, referring to Alinsky and his “political paradise of communism”, he has this to say; “Any revolutionary change MUST be precededby a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and change the future. This acceptance is the reformation essential to any revolution.” As can be inferred from this last statement, Obama and Congress are intentionally pushing us towards the brink of disaster to get the general public to accept and EMBRACE the totalitarian ethic they desire so much. Don’t give up hope, we are not all defeated by their words and deeds just yet. We must prevail against the forces of darkness they are trying to force upon us by exposing them to the light of day with their own rhetoric and actions.

August 15th, 2010 | 8:35 am | #199 hmm let’s connect the dots. to understand why there are so many socilaists on the Judiciary committe one must understand what the Judiciary committee is responsibile for: among other things the judiciary committee is the governmental group in charge of: 1)Bankruptcy, mutiny, espionage, and counterfeiting. 2)The judiciary and judicial proceedings, civil and criminal. 3) Immigration policy and non-border enforcement 4) Subversive activities affecting the internal security of the United States. So can you say the fox guarding the chicken house. the socialists now have the power to decide immigration and border issues, what and who is “subversive”. what judges get appointed etc. this is just one more datapoint of the socialist takeover of this country from within.

August 15th, 2010 | 10:29 am | #203 First off using a Soviet symbol reveals bias and not knowing the difference between socialism and communism. But then most in the states don’t know and stupidly label all the same. But the real issue is just trying to stir the angry conservative mindset which labels and demonizes anyone and anything that is not like them. With that job done well for you continue spreading fear and illusion.

August 15th, 2010 | 1:25 pm | #209 To Jeff, #203 — Go ahead and argue semantics, you useful tool. The fact of the matter is that communists understand that it is difficult to go directly from capitalism to communism without a bloody revolution, so they push for socialism instead. Socialism is just a rest stop in the long march to communism. Pull your head out of your butt and understand that the “progressives” — whether labeled communists, socialists, Marxists, liberals, Leftists or whatever — mean to destroy capitalism and with it the entire way of life we cherish as free men. I intend to remain a free man.

August 15th, 2010 | 2:06 pm | #212 Whether or not the list is valid, we must all review the voting history on candidates and any bills they have sponsered (and/or added pork to). Several decades ago as a poor farm boy, I might have supported redistribution of wealth to enjoy things more fortunate had. In a couple more decades I might again be tempted to support redistribution to see my final years end in modest comfort (it seems that all I have worked for and saved is gradually being eroded by actions of the US leaders and congress). But if this was the way, I would not have much incentive to work hard to better myself and quite frankly the US would at best be a 2nd world country. Trucker provided some good links which I am not yet sure in what extent to accept: I do know that we forget that the US government was established to join and protect the individual 13 original governments (nations), yet we continue to allow the takeover and abolishment of States Rights and individual freedom. The way things are going, I am tempted to support a division of the US and stick with the ‘Grass Roots’ section.

It looks like a mouth with fins to me!” shouts the first fish, “Swim away!!”

How do you feel about your freedoms being determined by people much richer than you in back rooms and board meetings? It is one thing to dislike the democrats in control but to be ready to pull the lever for anyone claiming to be a “conservative”  right now is letting the wolves back in the hen house. Remember, you can vote out elected officials, not stake holders.
