Buenos Aires clearinghouse Comisin Pro Bono e Inters Pblico (CPBIP) has expanded its remit to
cover the rest of Argentina, launching a new website enabling it to o er services across the
country.

CPBIP launched the website in response to experiencing a large volume of requests for assistance
from all over Argentina, of which many were left without counsel due to the fact it operated
exclusively in Buenos Aires, where the clearinghouse and all its member rms are based.

The clearinghouse had previously attempted (http://latinlawyer.com/benchmarking/10th-annual-awards/1098080/pro-

bono-pro le-comisi%C3%B3n-de-trabajo-pro-bono-e-interes-p%C3%BAblico) to win support from law rms and

practitioners outside of the capital, but met opposition from some independent practitioners, who
view pro bono lawyers as competition.

The group founded a webpage to expand its reach redfederalprobono.com.ar

(http://www.redfederalprobono.com.ar/) which will serve as the link between those requiring pro bono

counsel and the professionals from all over the country who o er such services. Clients can submit
their cases and request counsel through the online platform. Itlaunched in July.

CPBIP, established in 2000, works free of charge on cases of public interest. It o ers the services of
legal professionals from 21 rms and two companies.
