LOW VISIBILITY PROCEDURES


(RVR LESS THAN 1200 TO 600 FT)
Low Visibility Taxi Routes
Departure taxi routes will be limited to the most direct taxi route via taxiways to the
threshold of departure Runway 36. Access to the Runway 36 threshold will be via
Taxiway C.
Taxi hold positions on Taxiway C leading to Runway 36 are equipped with stop bars
and guard lights. All taxi holding positions serving Runway 18/36 are equipped with
guard lights which are controlled by Winnipeg Tower.
Departures
Only departures on Runway 36 shall be permitted. Intersection departures will not be
permitted.
Although Winnipeg Tower does not control aircraft push backs or taxiing on aprons,
aircraft are recommended to contact Winnipeg Tower before maneuvering on Apron 1.
Sequencing of Ground Movements for Take-off
Pilots must follow instructions on Sequencing of Ground Movements for Take-Off as
described in CAP GEN Operating Minima.
Prior to requesting push and taxi clearance, pilots are to ensure that conditions are
equal to, or better than the minimum RVR for start in conjunction with the lowest
visibility condition in which they are certified to operate.
Surface Movement Guidance Control System
All Taxiway centerline markings are painted using reflective paint beads outlined in
black. Fiber-optic guidance signs are used on the airfield.
Taxi hold positions are established at all points intersecting all runways. Secondary
taxi hold positions are provided where standard positions do not provide the required
protection of ILS CAT I & II sensitive areas. All taxi hold positions are marked with
painted hold lines and illuminated fiber-optic guidance signs.
Gates are identified by black on white lighted panels located on the terminal building
at gates or on the bridge head for passenger boarding bridges. Apron 1 pavement
markings for aircraft positions including lead in lines and aircraft stand markings of
yellow on black.

Arrivals
Arrivals shall be suspended while conditions of RVR values less than 1200 are present.

DE-ICING OPERATION PROCEDURES
1. Notify PAD CONTROL on 122.92 and WINNIPEG GROUND prior to push back when de-icing is required.

2. Hold short of Central De-icing Facility (CDF) and contact PAD CONTOL on 122.92.
Note: in the event that the "Hold" light and/or inset light can not be utilized, the (CDF) will
deploy a "Follow Me" vehicle.

3. All de-icing operations are performed with aircraft engines running, unless otherwise
advised by PAD CONTROL. CAUTION: all operating engines must be maintained at ground
idle thrust settings.

4. Once de-icing is complete, aircraft will be instructed to contact WINNIPED GROUND


for taxi clearance.
DO NOT ENTER TWY H WITHOUT ATC CLEARANCE.
MINIMUM BREAKAWAY THRUST MUST BE USED.
