Water birth or konvensional birth ?

Childbirth is a normal process experienced by women. Childbirth is a process

whereby the baby, placenta and membranes from the uterus of the mother. The delivery
process is divided into stage 1 to stage 4. The delivery process is usually accompanied by
severe labor pain and anxiety for the mother. Pain during childbirth is particularly the
case in the first stage 1. The modern era of today are the development of methods of
delivery that can reduce labor pain one of which is water birth. However, the conventional
method of delivery with delivery over the bed is also currently still been public for several

Conventional labor is a normal deliveries pervagina on the bed. Most mothers do

labor with this conventional method. This method can cause severe pain. This
conventional labor takes a long time because of the contractions the mother usually
uncertain. generally lasts for less than 24 hours.

The advantages of conventional labor is that labor has been used or known since
ancient times, especially in Indonesia. This conventional labor does not use other tools,
as well as not to hurt the mother or the baby using a surgical instrument or any other
instrument. This labor when the baby is out of the vagina then immediately removed and
the risk of breaking the umbilical cord was minimal. These conventional labor naturally.
Besides the cost of labor is relatively cheap and has provided insurance by the
government. In this process the mother can give birth with a midwife of the village, went
to the clinic, the doctor or hospital. This conventional labor occurs minimal risk of harm
both the mother and the baby.

However, there are some disadvantages of conventional labor is, in this process
occurs severe pain. Pain occurs mainly in stage 1 of the stages of labor. In the
conventional delivery process is a mother feels pain from the contractions of the uterus.
In the process of this birth mother only allowed to sleep on the bed. To reduce the mother's
pain is usually recommended to take a deep breath.

Water birth is the process of giving birth in a tub of warm water. Giving birth in
water (water birth) is a method of having a vaginal birth vaginally in the water. Some
women choose to labor in the water and get out for delivery. In principle, delivery by
water birth method is not much different from the normal delivery method on the bed,
only on the method of water birth deliveries take place in warm water. The travel time is

Water birth has the advantages that can be beneficial to the mother and baby. The
benefits for the mother are: the mother will feel more relaxed because all the muscles
associated with childbirth becomes elastic, can simplify the process of pushing that pain
during labor is not too felt, water birth can reduce pain up to 40-70%, the process of
opening the road born will run faster if in the water, reducing the episiotomy. While the
benefits for the baby that can reduce the risk of head injury to the baby, the baby's blood
circulation will be better, so that the baby's body will be quickly flushed after birth

Although giving birth by means of water birth has many advantages, on the other
hand there are still risks of such methods, for the baby: the risk of asphyxia and hypoxia
if the baby is too long in the water or sink, the method could increase the risk of infection
to the baby, lifting the baby from water may risk damaging the cord.
