Belgian soprano Astrid Stockman does not shy away from any challenge

and has given convincing performances in oratorio, lied such as opera,


extending from early to contemporary music. Her versatility makes her a
sought-after soloist in Belgium and abroad.

She performed on major stages and festivals, such as the Rotterdam


Opera Days (NL), BOZAR (B), La Monnaie/De Munt (B), AMUZ (B), ILT
Festival (DK), Concertgebouw Brugge (B), DeSingel (B), Cultura
Nova (NL), Le Volcan (FR), Le Channel (FR) etc.

Operatic roles include (a.o.) Suor Angelica (Il Trittico - Puccini), Donna
Elvira (Don Giovanni - Mozart), Belinda (Dido & Aeneas - Purcell) and
Venus (Venus & Adonis - Blow). In season 15/16 she sang Marzelline
(appr. 100 representations) in an adaption of Beethovens Fidelio for
children. She also performed the role of Mimi in Les desventures de Mimi,
an opera for and with children and a co-production of BOZAR and
L'Auditori Barcelona. She worked for (music) theatre companies such as
Muziektheater Transparant, LOD Muziektheater, Walpurgis, Laika - Theatre
of senses,...

She was a soloist in several major oratoria compositions. She sang with
orchestras such as The National Orchestra of Belgium, The Antwerp
Baroque Orchestra, Scherzi Musicali and the European Philharmonic
Orchestra. She studied and performed plainchant with ensemble
Psallentes and sang concerts all over Europe. Hightlights of this season
include writing, creating and singing the role of Medea in Medematerial, a
new opera by collective lab.oratorium, in residence at Muziektheater
Transparant, and singing Marzelline at La Monnaie/De Munt.
