Komen® Circle of Promise Initiative, and Planned Parenthood North Highlands a re partnering to host a
mammogram screening event on October 7, 2017 at the Mack Road Valley Hi Community Center, located at 7833
Center Parkway, Sacramento, CA 95823, from 10am to 4pm. This collaborative partnership will also include mobile
mammography provider Life Saving Images (LSI), a California-based radiology company. LSI is certified by the FDA,
the American College of Radiology, and the State of California.

As part of this partnership, there will be no cost mammograms for all individuals who are eligible. That includes
individuals who are Medicare and Medi-Cal recipients, or who are uninsured. Insured individuals are asked to
bring their health insurance card. Kaiser members are not included at this time. If individuals do not have
insurance, they are likely able to qualify for a free mammogram through the Every Woman Counts (EWC)

African American women are, on average: 40% more likely to die of breast cancer than their white female
counterparts; are more likely to be diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer; are more likely to be diagnosed
with breast cancer at a younger age; and are 40 to 70% more likely to have a late-stage diagnosis. Unfortunately,
many African American women with late stage diagnosis have a poor prognosis—thus poorer outcomes.
Although Circle of Promise is an initiative focused on African American women, all women are welcome to take
