Vision, Mission, and Objective

Vision
Protect and preserve our world to be a better place for all
life on land.

Mission
To sustainably manage forests, combat desertification,
reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.
Objective
Build intelligent, innovative and integrated robots to
manage forest efficiently for all life on land.
Introduction about the Project in Detail

We reviewed existing situations and decided to build innovative and integrated

robots to manage forest efficiently for all life on land.
To meet our objectives, our team has designed and constructed a robotic
system that is capable of:

Detect forest fire and scan the forest foliage intelligently and
effectively for better forest management.
Put out forest fire from air by using drone robot and from land by
using robot equipped with pivoting cannon that can shoot fire
extinguisher balls.
Spray water to put out fire and helps wipe out haze to stop
biodiversity loss.
Monitor soil condition using internet of things and activate tree
replanting mechanism.
Collect water from the forest fog.

Synopsis of the Project
Background
We decided to build innovative and integrated robots to manage forest efficiently
for all life on land.

The Green XTReMe comprised of 4 main components:

1. Forest Tower : Control tower for forest management,

imaging and fire detection. Used to gather all the Big Data
map of the forest landscape.
2. X-fighter : Drone robot for fire rescuer and forest imaging
3. RescueBot : Fire rescuer and water mist tank
4. M-bot : Monitor and measure quality of soil and facilitate
tree re-planting

1, Forest Tower scans the forest and detects fire in the forest.

2. Forest Tower alerts X-fighter to go to the location and release fire extinguisher
balls to put out the fire from sky.

3. Forest Tower alerts RescueBot to shoot the fire extinguisher balls to put out
fire from land. Rescue-Bot spurt out water to put out the fire and wipe out haze
caused by forest fire.

4. Forest Tower detects an area with potential of land degradation and alerts
M-bot for further investigation. M-bot measure soil conditions using sensors and
plants tree if soils pH is neutral.

Robot functionality, Interactive Behaviour and Uniqueness

1 Forest Tower Robots functions & interaction:

Forest Tower is the control center of the forest
management system. It scans the forest using
webcam camera to detect fire spot.
Once detected fire spot, it will alert X-fighter fly
to the location and shoot fire extinguisher balls
to put out fire from the sky.
Forest Tower also alert RescueBot to go to the
fire location. RescueBot will shoot fire
extinguisher balls from the land.
When Forest Tower detected potential land
degradation by using pixy camera, it will deploy
M-Bot for further investigate the spotted area.

Uniqueness:
Advance Control Center which equipped with
internet and latest technology
Capable of collect and storage Big data for
EFFECTIVE forest analysis
SCRATCH (Detect area lack of green forest)

A Webcam is used to detect green foliage of the forest and once detected color
difference it will activate Lego Wedo Motor to trigger EV3 and NXT to send MBot to
check for soil condition.
Robot functionality, Interactive Behaviour and Uniqueness
2 X-fighter
Robots functions & interaction:
X-fighter is a flying drone controlled by
EV3 via Arduino Nano interface.
Interact with Forest Tower by Bluetooth
communication.
X-fighter will receive command to fly to
the hot spot area and return
autonomously.
X-fighter will shoot fire extinguisher balls
to the fire spot to put out fire from the sky.

Uniqueness:
Xtreme fast to reach the fire area for
rescue
X-fighter can fly to area that could not
reach by land vehicle, thus rescue jobs
become more effective.
Robot functionality, Interactive Behaviour and Uniqueness

3 RescueBot Robots functions & interaction:

RescueBot trigger by Forest Tower via
Bluetooth when fire spot detected by the
tower.
This robot is capable of shooting fire
extinguisher balls to the fire spot to put
out fire.
RescueBot also helps to reduce haze by
spraying water mist.

Uniqueness:
RescueBot has dual functions, i.e
SHOOT fire extinguisher balls and spray
water mist.
It helps to rescue forest fire from far
distance including location deep in the
forest which is beyond access by normal
vehicle.
Robot functionality, Interactive Behaviour and Uniqueness
4 M-bot Robots functions & interaction:
M-bot is a soil monitoring robot, equipped
with sensors to measure soils pH,
moisture level and temperature.
When Forest Tower detected a potential
land degradation area, tower will alert
M-bot for further investigation.
M-bot goes to the location to measure
soils condition. If pH reading is neutral,
then tree planting mechanism will be
activated.
If soils pH is too acidic or alkali, M-Bot
will alert RescueBot to restore the soil pH.

Uniqueness:
Advance soil monitoring robots
Measured results are display using an IoT
based soil monitoring system
