About MyCUHK

MyCUHK is your one-stop portal for personalized access to various online resources from The Chinese
University of Hong Kong. It is also the primary entrance for all the services provided by CUSIS, the Chinese
University Student Information System .

MyCUHK allows single sign-on - the ability to login with a single account and access multiple applications.
You may either use your 6-digit staff id or 10-digit student id (printed on your CU Link Card) to login to
MyCUHK. Both the staff id and student id will uniquely identify you to the portal via the CWEM password.
If you were to access these applications outside of MyCUHK, you would have to login to each of these
applications separately.

MyCUHK also allows user-customization. In addition to providing commonly used applications such as
emails, announcements, helpdesk, users are able to define a unique and personal view of MyCUHK by
choosing and adding services they are interested.

Component

The basic portal component is called a pagelet. A pagelet is a Window-like box that can be added or
removed from a tab page. A pagelet can contain simple text information, group of related links or run a
small independent application or function.

The Staff view of the portal

Staff will be presented with the following six tabs, namely,

Webmail – webmail and change email alias and drop box

Useful Links – useful links for staff

You may personalize the content on MyPage.


To change content on MyPage, click the button.
Pagelets available for selection are shown in three catetories:
CUSIS Services – list all available CUSIS functions
Other CUHK Services – list all available non-CUSIS functions developed by CUHK
MyCUHK Functions – list all portal built-in functions

Note that CUSIS and Other CUHK Services list will be different for Staff, Student and Alumni.

 Select the service you want to put on ‘My Page’


 Click the ‘Personalized Layout’ link to change the Layout

Mass Mailings – showing mass mailings to staff if you login as a staff or mass mailings to students if
you login as a student

You cannot customize this tab page.

My Teaching

You will see this tab page if you login as a staff. On this tab page, the CUSIS Services and eLearning
functions are found:

CUSIS Services – this is only relevant for teaching staff, non-teaching staff will not be able to access any
of the CUSIS functions available.
eLearning – you may access WebCT, Moodle, CU Forum and VeriGuide if you are teachers or registered
users. Others Tools will contain links to other e-Learning tools.

My Study

You will see this tab page if you login as a student. On this tab page, the following functions are available:

CUSIS Services – all CUSIS functions for students can be found here
eLearning – the portal will connect you automatically to WebCT, Moodle and CU Forum. You may
also submit your assignment via VeriGuide. Others Tools will contain links to other e-Learning tools.
Graduate School – if you are a postgraduate students, you may access additional functions from the
Graduate School platform
Policies and Guidelines – quick reference to Copyrights and IP Rights, Honesty in Academic Work and
Policy Against Sexual Harassment

On this tab page, functions related to University Library can be found:

Library Home Page – display the Library Home Page


Library Catalogue – display the Library Catalogue Page
My Library Record – display your library borrowing record. If you have not store your Library
password yet, you’ll have to type in your library password first, see ‘Store Library Password’ below.
My Library - go to the ‘My Library’ page. If you have not store your Library password yet, you’ll have
to type in your library password first, see ‘Store Library Password’ below.
Library Room Booking – go to the library room booking web site. If you have not store your Library
password yet, you’ll have to type in your library password first, see ‘Store Library Password’ below.
Store Library Password – library web sites will use a password different from CWEM password, and
therefore in order to allow the portal to log you in to these web sites, you have to provide the portal
with your library password. The portal will help you encrypt and store your library password securely
in its database. When needed, the portal will retrieve this password and help you login to library

web sites automatically. Enter your Library password and click the button to save your

password.
