THE DRAGON AND THE MANTICORE:
This story is told as the sun turns and from distant to near. At the dawn of time, there
was a dragon. The dragon was greedy and sought treasure. After centuries of search it
found the opal and so the DRAGON swallows the OPAL. When the dragon had swallowed
the opal, it felt sick, the gem burning its intestine. It went to its friend the manticore and
asked for help. The dragon told the manticore of its predicament. Filled with jealousy of
the dragons opal, the MANTICORE attacked the DRAGON. The dragon fought and won, but
bleeding, the DRAGON sought the help of the CLERIC. The cleric pleaded to Zala and the
moon goddess, in her wisdom heard the prayer, but being a goddess of her own will, ZALA
healed the MANTICORE instead of the dragon. So in the end, the DRAGON was alone with the
DRAGON again.
