Description: Provides different gains for input signals inside and outside a
user defined range. The user defined range is based on a user specified threshold
and is symmetric about 0.0. When the input signal is within the innermost
region, (i.e. |input| < |threshold| ) the lower gain is used. If the input is in the
outermost region, (i.e. |input| > |threshold| ) then the upper gain is used. The
transfer function is continuous, so the signal will not jump when a transition
from one gain to the other occurs.
