SAMPLE COPY OF PROJECT SYNOPSIS Synopsis JOB SATISFACTION ANALYSIS IN M/S INDIAN EXPORT HOUSE LIMITED STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM Established in 1962, M/s. India Export House Ltd, (IEHL) is one of the first and oldest garment export houses in India. Initially, it started with export- ing garments, handicraft and incense to U.K. and U.S.A, but today it specialises in ladies garments and only exports the same. About a decade ago it had achieved an annual turnover of over Rs. 35 crores. It has manpower strength of 200 employees. However, over the past six years the export and hence the turnover of IEHL has been declining. In the meanwhile, the manufacturing unit of the IEHL had also shifted from Najafgarh area to Noida in 1993, Though there have been many reasons which together have contributed to the decline in performance of IEHL, lack of job satisfaction of employees appears to be one of the key reasons. Their turnover of approx 35 crores in the year 1987 has now dropped to just 16 crores in 1996, Their manpower turn over too has increased over the last 5 years. WHY IS THE TOPIC CHOSEN Thave been an employee of the IEHL as a merchandiser in the sampling department in 1996 and hav< been observing this decline in performance and the turnover. I am deeply concerned with the well being of my old organisation and would therefore, like to scientifically analyse the reasons and ‘suggest re- medial measures to the management. WHAT CONTRIBUTION WOULD THE PROJECT MAKE AND TO WHOM Results of my survey and analysis would provide a very useful input to the management of IBHL who are already ceased of the problem.
