When I picked it back up, though, I found myself excited about the ideas Dodson presented on discipleship. Yet to claim that "the Great
Commission commands us to learn the gospel by the gospel" doesn't clarify this v I would give this a 3. I was refreshed, encouraged, trained, and

goal is not to 'apply' the text but to be awestruck with Jesus, not to 'do' but to delight in him. This is at the very center of the gospel. Dodson is
very clear in showing how gospel-centred living is not driven by license or legalism but instead delight in, and devotion to, Christ. I am thankful for
this. The writing is a little sloppy, though, most noticeably in the author's insistence on including the word "gospel" in about every sentence. He

far too little communicated to lovers of God and Disciples of Christ today. This book offers practical ideas for engaging with secularized society
and does so in a way that is enfranchising, helping churches rely on their members instead of one leader with a dynamic personality or specialist
skills. He also sees a corporate aspect to our redemption which necessitates we do discipleship together p. Yet, both ideas are incomplete. He

a desire to grow in the great commandment. We often celebrate the gospel and focus on our standing in Christ but we fail to understand the
