BSP & GSP DISTICT ENCAMPMENT 2017

Upon the advent of new technology where young ones are continuously influenced by computers
and gadgets. Computer applications and accounts such as, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram were a must
for young people. Most of the youngsters, if not all, failed to fully embody the ideals in the past, which
were essential in personal development.

Like what Sir Baden-Powell envision, that children of the future should be equip in the essentials
of life in order to be productive and primarily survive against the odds of life. And so, by his passion to
promote such principles, he founded the BOYSCOUT which later on spread over continents and basically
adopted and embrace by the visionary leaders of our country knowing that it would play an important
role in nation building.

In line with this, the DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION uphold its advocacy and share commitment to
help equip our children today, which was the breakthrough of incorporating the BSP and GSP in the school
activities.

And so, last October 12-14, 2017, Don Marcelino District conducted its 2017 BSP GSP DISTRICT
ENCAMPMENT which was held at WILLIAM JOYCE SR. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. Duly participated by 22
schools. It was memorable because of the different games played by the participating schools of DON
MARCELINO DISTRICT, including lectures and important principles shared by the invited speakers. More
so, with the presence of our COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE Sir Rosario Bagasol, who emphasized that the
essence of the activities were not only winning games but above all, to inculcate the values and skills an
individual should possess and its significant application in life. The said event became successful through
the collaborative efforts of the parents, teachers, school heads, BSP District Coordinator Sir Lordjim Bansil
and GSP District Coordinator Mam Veronica Bacalares and with the full support of our District Principal In
charge Sir Joel A. Villehermosa.
